60-Day Trial of Connect+
You’re automatically enrolled in a 60-day Connect+ trial! This upgrade unlocks the potential of your connected vehicle, with premium media app streaming available now, and video app streaming available in future updates. Go to Settings > Upgrades on the center display to manage your upgrades, or use the Rivian mobile app. After your trial expires, you can subscribe to keep Connect+ features active.

• Wi-Fi connectivity
  • If your vehicle is connected to a previously saved Wi-Fi network, it now maintains its connection even when you shift your vehicle out of Park.
  • Now when your vehicle is near a Rivian Service Center of office, it automatically connects to the Rivian secure Wi-Fi network named RivianVehicles.
  • Fixed an issue that turned off a previously active Wi-Fi hotspot after a vehicle restart.

Power outlet update is the most exciting, unfortunately.

I'd wait for at least the version after this to update, so that my 60-day Connect+ free trial would include at least casting, which is much more useful.

Can anyone explain *which* outlets are affected by these settings and the outlet timer? Is it only the AC 120V ones? Can I leave a fridge running on the DC 12V cigarette lighter socket indefinitely?

A rather underwhelming update. I get it that the connected services is to pay for the actual LTE connection rather than the apps but the apps aren’t excellent right now and existing apps like Spotify don’t even work as well as it does on my phone. It’s kind of insulting to charge for those half baked apps. I know we will never get CarPlay but honestly CarPlay just works. I’ll grudgingly pay for the LTE but I’d gladly pay for CarPlay.

They are starting it now in August so that people start paying on October. Q4 is a critical financial quarter for them and revenue from this will help.

This may be an underrated change. I wonder how many of the Connect+ features will work over wifi. If some will, you could have the truck connect to your phone's hotspot and simply use your phone's plan instead of paying for Connect+.

I'm very excited for Apple Music - that gets me maybe 33% of the way to what I currently use the "Thing which will not be named" for.

Spotify is hot sh*t-frosted garbage and I cannot wait to never use it again...
