Gen1 R1T; I hit the outlet button and it toggles itself back off, 12V in the gear tunnel is working.

I pulled what I thought was fuse F34 on the driver-side which was the only one with the word 'inverter' in the description (it was fine). I would expect it to be more than 10A however. Does anyone know if there's another fuse that would control the 120V outlets I could check?

Do you have anything plugged in when it turns itself off?

Mine is in the shop right now with same symptoms. It worked with a 900 W load, I turned off the cooktop, then later it apparently decided to fry itself. No water or shorts. They said it's the pack fuse and will fix it under warranty but sounds like they don't believe me. So put in a ticket and be prepared to make a stink.

huh, only thing i've used is a ~40W fridge. thanks for the insight, hopefully that's a quick fix

I had the same issue a few months ago. I thought it was going to be a simple fuse replacement like you are thinking. It did end up being a fuse replacement, but was a massive job as the fuse requires the HV battery to be removed before it can be replaced. Took about 4 weeks in total (I had other issues getting fixed).

If this happens to anyone out of warranty, you are screwed. It's designs decisions like this that are likely going to have me trade in my Gen1 R1 before the warranty expires.

I think the same exact thing happened to @Dark-Fx . Curious, did the vehicle throw an error, or did the outlets just stop working?

Incidentally, does anyone know if there is a software shutoff on the inverter. If I try to draw over 1500W, will I fry that fuse in the HV battery or will the inverter shut down or limit output first?

Is the 12V outlet supposed to be controlled by this “outlets” switch? Mine seems to be powered whether outlets are turned on or off, same with USB-C ports

When I tried running my welder off my R1T, it would trip off basically as soon as the welder made first contact. I'm assuming if the load is significantly too much, it will trip off instead of reducing voltage to try to carry the load, but I guess it could have been doing something else. Never tried to run it off the inverter that died.

I'll have to stick a meter on it next time I need to use my table saw, because I know it'll work for that, the saw just doesn't have as much power as it does when I have it plugged into the wall.

So when you say “tripped off” does the outlet(s) become temporarily unavailable then comes back after some time by itself?

Have to turn them back on from the display.

When mine stopped working, the button to turn them on would just spin, and not report that they became on.

Thanks! That is good to know. At the lowest setting, the AC on our camper draws about 1550W with the peak current on activation being not much higher. I was worried it might blow a fuse or trip off and I didn’t want to experiment in case the reset wasn’t trivial. I suspect that, like the table saw, the AC is more of an inductive load and should be fine, might just run a little weaker.

Would be surprised if your AC will run off the outlets in the R1. Many of us with campers have tried it to no avail.

Just wanted to follow up in case someone finds this useful later. The service center said the inverter had a short and they replaced the inverter and the fuse, took about 3 weeks (mostly waiting for diagnostic info to come back from engineering and the parts delivery). Interestingly my 24h vampire drain decreased from a little more than 2% to just under 1%.
