I bought a set of these from amazon. So far they have been great. I only need them when I take my SUP somewhere. I have the Thule Evo on the bed. They are pretty noisy and take about 15 to 20 minutes to put on or take off. Pretty simple mount ing design, a u-bolt is basically it. NO t bad for $159

Edit: add inquiry.

I don't know if the cost tradeoff is worth it. 15,020 minutes is way too long to put on and take off.

Seriously though, I'm considering the same crossbars for the bed of my R1T. I will only need them occasionally for pretty light loads and what I really want to try is rigging something to try to mount my Thule on them. They attach with u-bolts, which may a bit cumbersome, but should be secure. They also look reasonably well-built, and much like a lot of the third-party crossbars I've used in the past. Any reason not to go ahead and try these?

Any reason these wouldn't fit on R1S? At least on the front two mount points?

I might have mistyped. Otherwise... flex pricing!! That should add another 17+ pages of complaints. /s
Well, if you can’t take the responses, don’t post in the first place. ??????????

I think I may pull the trigger on these anyway. Amazon says delivery Thursday, so if your report is discouraging, I can just drop the unopened box at the local UPS store on Friday.

Wonder what makes then so noisy? They look ovoid shape without a lot of sharp edges. And does it matter on noise whether you mount them front or rear?

You can't see the underside in the photos on Amazon, but my guess is that there is channel, like a T-slot, running from side to side used to attach the xbar to the mounting posts. If here is, the turbulence caused by the air past that open channel is probably the cause of the noise. Some crossbars have front and rear faces and must be mounted accordingly. May be the case here as well.

We'll know more when @Riv E In issues his comparison report.

You are going to LOVE them!!!! TRUST ME!!!!

They look AWESOME in person! You will like them!!!
Kenny, do you by chance know the total height with the crossbars and the 22" wheels? I am contemplating a set, but end up parking in garages in Houston on a semi-frequent basis. The vehicle may end up too tall with the crossbars. TIA!

In Kneel mode, I measured 73 inches. All measurements will vary based on you drive modes, air pressure etc.

Thank you for the quick response. I will probably need to remember to lower the vehicle before entering the garages as the lowest one is about 6'7", I think. Thanks again!

Both sets (EVBase and Amazon) arrive Monday. I’ll report back.
UPDATE: both the EVBase and Amazon sets arrived. They are identical in every way. Do not buy from EVBase. I’ll be returning those.

First impressions (have not installed): Like the black color, like that they’re uniform width (unlike Rivian’s that are thinner in the middle), like that the ends don’t overextend like Rivian’s, appear to be more aerodynamic (thin along front edge, thicker in back), no Rivian whistling gap.

Hope to install later today. Hoping they’re quiet while driving.

Instructions state 220lb capacity.

Thanks for doing this. As a totally disinterested party abusing the power of the internet (j/k) could you post photos, please. Also, could you try a couple of parkour moves to make sure they are sturdy; once installed. Cheers!

Any idea yet the difference between the Amazon sets I ordered (posted above) and the ones you ordered? Besides $40 of course.
