Why can't we activate Pet Comfort from the phone app????

Seems like a no-brainer. What if you realize you forgot to turn it on when you left your pet in the car? If you can use the app to open the Frunk, surely you can use it to turn on Pet Comfort?

Pet comfort is a very legally-complicated feature, there are many restrictions to it. That's why you also can't turn it off from the app, so you don't turn it off accidentally.
You have to be engaged with the vehicle to use this feature. You cannot control it remotely.

Yep. Though you would think there would be a way to turn it on remotely, while still not allowing one to turn it off….

I agree. But, no one is perfect!

Except that turning on climate from the app only runs for a little while (30 minutes?) but pet mode stays on indefinitely.

Does it turn off automatically? The manual doesn't mention much about the app other than it exists and you can use it to control the climate. How long do you want it to stay on?

Any of these "solutions" would be totally unnecessary if the AC would just stay on when you walked away from your vehicle and locked the doors. Like how it does in virtually any other vehicle.

If you forgot you left your pet in your car, you should just leave them at home.

Yes. It turns off. As it pertains to the discussion at hand, I would want it to stay on as long as my dog has to be in the truck.

My Tesla MY has allowed Dog mode enable for last several years from iPhones. It's a no brainer feature, yet Rivian I guess sees no value in allowing me to turn on pet mode from my phone. Does this mean, they don't care about our pets? Seems Rivian software is about 5 years behind Tesla. But pet owners are asking for a simple feature that is getting ignored.

Yeah, Tesla has allowed this from the app forever, so that seems to take the legal argument out. The Rivian app leaves a lot to be desired in terms of charging control, climate control, etc.
