I’ve noticed the Nav has been giving me weird directions lately too.

In the usual routes that have a dedicated right lane that merges to a cross street (via yield), it tells me to take that and from that lane take a left onto the cross street. But, there’s always a perfectly good, dedicated left turn lane to get onto that cross street.

It’s weird because I haven’t seen it before. I keep submitting bugs through their tool on the main screen, but now it’s becoming a bit onerous when I see this happen often.

Huh, seems like a recent bug... Today I too noticed an unusual "turn left" from the right lane with directions showing a right turn. Gotta remember it's advice, not a command. Sometimes I do miss the MapQuest print outs...

Still remember one of my first trips using computer generated instructions; probably using MapQuest. It was back in the mid/late 90s, before the days of portable GPS units and smartphones. I took a motorcycle ride from Kansas to Rhode Island and had planned the route. I had page after page of printed instruction. Not being able to deal with paper while riding the motorcycle, I had a magnetic tank bag with a clear plastic pouch on it strapped to the motorcycle. I could glance down at the printouts while riding. At each fuel stop, the directions would get refolded to show the upcoming leg in the clear pouch. Without “recalculating “ prompts, I really am surprised I made it without getting (too) lost along the way.

Mine just stopped talking to me altogether on Weds. Hopefully I’ll remember to try a soft reset this morning before I head out, otherwise it’ll probably be more of the silent treatment.

This is not a new bug, but now it seems far more rampant/systemic. I keep meaning to register a POI failure, but now it's many. My own home is always announced by Rivian "on the right", but the map clearly shows, and my brain clearly knows, "on the left"
(one example)
No surprise, the reversal happens regardless of which direction you approach the destination.

I had this issue a few times in the Tesla. What it turned out to be is that I was coincidentally hitting the mute or down-volume button, to turn media off/down, at the time it was talking. WHILE it's talking, your controls affect the nav volume instead of media volume.

Apparently you missed your turn and are driving in reverse.

I’ve had this issue appear in the last month as well.

@DeafPug if you ever start feeling nostalgic, you might pick up a fold-down map case that attaches to chest radio harness. You can restart the trend using OG maps while driving and look swanky doing it.

And yeah, I need to get one. It is on the list.

Soft reset and now we’re friends again. :). It wasn’t the NAV volume, that’s the first thing I checked.
