What is your best guess of how long these tires will last? Little bit disappointed with my general grabbers already at 6/32 with only 10k miles on it
It is very challenging to predict how many miles a set of tires will last, particularly with the weight and torque of an EV vehicle. Tire mileage depends on factors like driving behavior, geographic location, weather, and road surfaces. Goodyear doesn’t have an official treadwear estimate, but proper inflation and regular rotations will help extend the life of the tires. The mileage of the Goodyear tires should be competitive with other brands, but your mileage may vary.

Just installed a set of the Wrangler Territory AT 33 inch tires on my Gen1 R1T today. Only have 10 miles on them but they are smooth and quiet. I recall my truck being like that when I first bought it as well. New tires are always smooth and quiet.

The Pirellis got really rough and noisy at only 23,500 miles on them. The rear tires had about 50% tread left but since the Wranglers are a different size, I replaced all four. I would not be surprised if these Wranglers get rough and noisy at around 25k miles as well but they are almost half the cost. I thought it was worth a shot since two new Pirellis are almost the same cost as four new Wranglers.

Purchased and installed them at America's Tire. They didn't have it in their system but once I gave them the Tire Rack info, they were able to track them down and have them delivered and installed the next day.

The tread and sidewalls are comparable to Pirellis in terms of trying to look aggressive but not really. From a distance, I can tell they are slightly smaller than the 34 inch Pirellis but I would gather most would not be able to tell. I really don't care. I prefer to get a little more mileage vs a little bigger look.

I'm in Socal but will be driving up to Mammoth where it snows frequently this Winter. Time will only tell but if they perform similar to the Pirellis with a little more mileage, I would say definitely worth it for the price point.

Getting the Rivian serviced in a month for front suspension noise (common) and hoping they can change the tire spec in the system while I'm there. I'll post efficiency in about a week or so once I have more miles on them.

My efficiency after 200 miles is very similar to the Pirellis if I factor in the 3% for tire size. I was getting 2.17 mi/kwh in All Purpose mode.

There is a noticeable "humming" noise coming from the tires when I go over 50mph which is disappointing. The Pirellis did not have any humming noise when they were new. When driving over highways or freeways that have lined grooves for rain drainage, the noise is significantly louder to the point where it is alarming. I slowed down and started to pull over because I thought the tires were damaged.

I don't know if this is due to the tread pattern or if it is something that will pass after the "break in" period. My tires are inflated to 49psi. If they do not go away, I may consider my exchange options.

Wranglers vs Pirellis based on my experience so far:
  • Cost: Winner is Wrangler, almost half the cost of Pirellis
  • Size: Winner is Pirelli although size difference is not really noticeable
  • On-road Performance: Winner is Pirelli, Wranglers have a hum over 50mph
  • Off-road Performance: TBD
  • Looks: Tie, semi aggressive look is comparable
  • Efficiency: Tie, very similar after 200 miles

Hmm, this is the first I’ve heard of anyone having a noise performance issue. My tires on my R1T have good noise performance at all speeds on all my local road types. Do you know if your wheels and tires have been dynamically balanced?

Each wheel/tire is dynamically balanced. There is no vibration at any speed. This is a hum noise similar to what you get with very aggressive all terrain tires like KO2s or mud tires. I’ve owned ICE trucks before with various AT wheels/tires and also own a Jeep with Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs with Kevlar. I know the difference.

I’m fairly certain it’s the tread pattern. Could it be that I have a bad tire or a bad batch of tires? Hard to imagine this would be something Goodyear or Rivian missed during testing and trials.

Our noise team helped design the tread pattern for optimal noise harmonics.

Are you noticing the issue at any speed above 50mph or just a certain range?

What ride height / settings are you using?

Ride height is standard and in All Purpose mode.

The hum starts at around 50mph and is pretty consistent up to 80mph. At 80mph the hum starts to compete with the wind noise but you can still discern the two.

To clarify, this is not a loud hum like KO2s or MTs make. It is a low hum but noticeable compared to new Pirellis.

@B Digs, if this is not normal, should I ask Americas Tire to replace them and if so, based on what?

@J400, I have reached out to the Goodyear team. I'll let you know what I find out.

Yes, appreciate it, thank you!

I’m going to try a lower psi and higher psi to see if there is a difference.
