As the title says we now have in stock our own custom designed HEPA + Activated Carbon replacement cabin air filters.

They're available for purchase on our website at: https://everyamp.com/products/cabin-air-filter-hepa-activated-carbon-rivian-r1t-r1s

  • HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter element removes 99.976% of particulates greater than 0.3µm including pollen and other allergens (may result in a minor restriction to airflow)
  • Activated carbon captures VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and gases including carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide
  • Rivian service manual recommends replacing cabin air filters every year or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Installation is super easy and can be completed in under 5 minutes, with no tools required. You can check out our instructions page or watch our video below.

Does it this filter inhibit airflow compared to the oem? Or require the fan to work harder to pull air in through the filter? Thanks
Through the laws of physics, a finer filtration will have an impact on the airflow.

That said we have not noticed a difference running it in our R1T for more than a month now.

Well, OK - but do we need to worry about Rivian not honoring warranty because of the increased airflow load?

Would be quite the stretch for Rivian to care but we're not Rivian to answer.

Not sure how you're correlating the filter to equipment stains. I could be wrong but not aware of the blower being tied to an airflow sensor that would cause it to work harder or increase RPMs, just preset speeds. As a, filter even Rivian's, gets dirty it becomes more resistant to airflow. That's the filter doing it's job and collecting contaminants.

Asking that question voids the warranty!

But seriously, extreme resistance does damage HVAC fans, both home and auto. But this slight change is safe. I have another brand of HEPA/carbon and didn’t notice any major change in flow.

Does this fit Gen2?
Have not had the opportunity to check it but we suspect not. Rivian's website states their OEM filter is not compatible with Gen 2.

The service manual shows it's the same process to replace it though. Shoot us a DM or email if you're interested in confirming.

I purchased a HEPA filter from a different seller (EV Sportline) that looks a lot like the one EveryAmp is selling, and if it's the same or similar manufacturer, the filter does noticeably restrict air flow for me.

I tested this by switching between recirculate and non-recirculating flow at mid- to high-fan speed, and the airflow is noticeably less in non-recirculating mode. At lower fan speeds, it's not as noticeable.

In the heat of summer, I override the AC auto mode and bump up the fan speed to increase the airflow, but I do worry I'm overstressing the fan motor by doing so.

Great question!

Our filters are in fact different. EV Sportline chose H13+ grade HEPA and we chose H11.

What’s the Difference?
There are two main types of HEPA filters – HEPA 11 and HEPA 13. Both are considered medical grade and designed to remove 99.97% of particles that are 0.3 microns in size from the air, but there are some key differences between the two grades.

HEPA 11 filters are typically used in residential settings, while HEPA 13 filters are designed for more industrial or commercial applications. HEPA 13 filters are able to capture a higher percentage of smaller particles than HEPA 11 filters, though create greater airflow resistance.

Short answer is just because they look similar, doesn't mean they are.

At this point, I think you can't go wrong with the OEM Mann filter! Good quality from an established OEM provider at a reasonable price.
