Yo RJ, R1T Max Pack is powering Fans, Fridges, hot water heaters, charging phones, laptops and hotspots…loving it…and I expect this outage to last for days and my massive Max battery should last through it all. 8 hours in and my battery has dropped a few percentage points…

But yeah, V2H would be sweet…..

Sorry that you lost power, but that you escaped Helene otherwise at least mostly undamaged. It's great that you have the R1T to help you and your family out, but we're all hoping that you don't need to test the limits of the Max Pack as a home power source.

This demonstrates that you don't need expensive, complicated V2H systems for emergency power.

This is pretty cool. Are you powering all these at once or alternating? Would love some more detail. We live in Cali and my wife is fearing the next “big one” and what we would do if power goes out. I keep telling her we can use the truck but she’s not quite convinced.

I've always wondered why people need a heater for hot water????

Good luck to you. A big reason I went electric is for similar situations. You aren't dependent on anyone else to keep your family safe!

Some people like to shower and wash dishes with hot water. Tap water is usually not at a comfortable temperature for a shower, so you’d need a water heater in order to get the water to the desired temperature.

I think they were being a smartass. The term hot water heater is where the joke is because if the water is already hot why would you need a heater. It's less funny when you realize booster water heaters exist that are in actuality hot water heaters. Things like sterilizers and commerical dishwashers use them.

My gas hot water heater requires electric ignition. I took a warm shower last night and it was nice. Even though it’s warm in the house, it still felt good.

And also, as mentioned, I’ll be hand washing all my dishes later today With hot water.

Yeah I heat cool water to make it hot. I don't need a "hot water heater" because the water is already hot?

Yes, I’m powering two fans, full size fridge, and charging laptops, tablets, phones, etc all at the same time. Have lots of extension cords and a few power strips.

Made coffee with Nespresso. My toaster oven must have a really high draw, as when I use it, the fans struggle and the toaster oven doesn’t seem to be 100% effective. I know the outlets max out of 1500w combined, and toaster ovens pull pretty hard. Even when using my gas generator for the last storm, my generator would get really loud when I would run the toaster oven.

Last night I grilled fajitas over charcoal while the family heated tortillas on an induction cookop inside (powered off R1T).

24 hours in, I’ve burned 9% on the battery. At this rate of usage, my Max pack can power what I need for 8 more days. There is a functional DCFC about 6 miles from my house that I can go use as needed. Hoping I won’t need to go top off But glad it’s functional if I need it. Tesla Supercharger is about 15 miles from my house as a backup, it appears to be online as well looking at the app.
