Dont. Originally I didn’t plan on getting Connect+. But after using for a while it is worth it for our use case.
If it isn’t worth it for you; dont get it.

I have elected to sign up for the Connect+. I look at it as a good deal for my needs and uses. If I want to update the GPS maps on my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, the cost is $150.00.

When you buy a vehicle for $80-100k and especially took the risk on a startup (risk = Fisker) I'd expect some respect from the company. Charging a monthly fee for cameras and other things I expect in a vehicle like this is offensive.

you seem upset. sell the vehicle if you feel the company has personally aggrieved you. no one owes you anything, so if you've been wronged do something about it.

this "holier than thou for I am customer" attitude is very off putting.

Rivian is a business and not a charity.

It cost money to get a LTE / cellular connection for each vehicle from AT&T.

AT&T is not running a charity either.

I love these periodic threads. Can I guess you also want CarPlay? This has been beaten to death. Why are people acting like this is some random thing the company sprang on unsuspecting customers. Connectivity was never going to be free forever. The charge is perfectly inline with Telsa‘s ($5 more a month but includes hotspot).

Understand not wanting to pay for something you feel should be free. However all the manufacturers are going to subscription based services. You’re getting OTA updates for free.

You're not paying for the cameras, etc, you're paying for the cellular service to get data to and from the vehicle. You're not entitled to that for free, under any circumstances. You are free to choose not to pay for that if you don't want/need the capabilities that enables.

Did another manufacturer hire you to come here and whine about Rivian charging for services that all car makers charge for? Stop it.

If all of you suckers want to pay have fun, I'm not. As I said I already paid a lot of money for the truck and I expected that large sum to cover all of the features. Paying more monthly for subscription stuff is an absolute joke.

BTW does rivian pay people to be on here because there sure are a lot of responses from people who seem exuberant about shelling out more of their hard earned dollars. If more people complained companies wouldn't do this criminal cr*p. As one of the first Rivian owners I recall we all spoke up and rebelled about the price increases after waiting two years or more and they saw Jesus and reversed course.

So yes we should expect basic Internet connection covered for the life of a vehicle. The company should cover that cost.
