I'm hot off a road trip from Vancouver BC to Yosemite and back with my wife and 18 month old daughter. Our 2023 QM R1T performed flawlessly. Family surprisingly was in good spirits the entire time despite spending roughly 8-10 hours a day in the vehicle. I drove mostly between AP, Sport, and Conserve, with a light sprinkle of Rally mode. Conserve continues to surprise me but you need to know how and when to use it to maximize tread life. The vehicle has enough range to make it a great road tripper provided you can contain everything within the vehicles profile.Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on POV) the G1 QM were a killer value. Interior was very close to G2 Accend (other than some insignificant trim pieces and pattern on seats and plaid accents, both of which are different but not really better...at least to me) and for me...it would take a G2 TM maybe but ultimately I would likely want a G2 QM. And that is if I could even get myself to give up my Meridian....which at moment...I can't.
And resale value on G1 is so low....it would take like $60k and my truck. Not even close to worth it for me.
A while back, I bitched about something on the phone to my Guide and he sent me and my family "Normal" t-shirts... That's the only swag I've gotten.??‍
I take delivery of my 5th Rivian Friday. Tri-Max.
no love on the loyalty…hahaha
I asked SC for some free swag… “not in our budget”.
I do want them to succeed…but I do own 5 of these things now.
I have gotten more from Rivian than from BMW for my wife's car. She wanted one of those pegasus plushies at the dealership, but the guy didn't get it for her. Custom ordered i4 M50 in a purple with just about every option available, and he couldn't give her a little stuffed animal.A while back, I bitched about something on the phone to my Guide and he sent me and my family "Normal" t-shirts... Just got my 2nd Rivian yesterday... I don't get why they don't at least give us a RIVIAN travel mug or something. Those are great marketing/branding.
That's about what they quoted for my '23 with just 4k miles, the day the appraisal page went live. The loyalty offer is a nice thought. But there's nothing the gen 2 offers that I can't live without. Plus, by the look of things they've got their own initial quality issues. Service situation isn't getting any better. And I have no desire to become indebted to any banks in order to make up the difference between current prices.I was curious - '22 R1T QM Large, 20k miles: $56.2k trade-in value.
Not bad considering original purchase price of around 77k with options (some of which I would be keeping).
I'm 100% with you. Really no point doubling down on depreciation. My truck is mechanically flawless and has gotten past the worst of the depreciation curve. That's about what they quoted for my '23 with just 4k miles, the day the appraisal page went live. Where do you find their tool?interestingly my trade value went up from the last time I tried out their tool.... tempting... Wonder how different the r1t gen 2 trimax ascend would be from my 3000vin r1t quad (has all the old features they've removed)...
