After updating my R1T to the 2024.35.0 version it now blasts heat uncontrollably— climate screen shows blue as if on “cool” but it’s blow dryer hot at all times unless I turn off the air conditioner entirely.

Anybody else have this issue?

I assume it’s to do with the new split climate control for back seat passengers but I would love to revert back to prior version asap. All heat all the time is unbearable… will make me think twice before updating again…

More details:
- temperature setting does not work, even on all the way low it blows hot
- changing to recirculate/not does not help
- setting to fan only does turn off heat
- the front windshield Defogger will blow cold
- resetting software with emergency and left steering wheel does not fix it

I'm running 2024.39.01 on my 23 R1T. Haven't noticed an issue.

Not had any issue with the tri zone climate, great they rolled this out.

I’m running 2024.35.0 and thought I felt warm air coming from the left front while cold air blowing from the center and right. I will confirm again.

Try a soft/hard reset? What do you have the temp set to? More info helps us help you.

YES!!!

I was building a post on this earlier and taking temperature readings with a meat thermometer and temp gun to submit a ticket, but of course it started working just fine in the garage.

While driving, it's like recirc was Reverse, blowing hot when blue unless it was LOW and cold unless it was HI while red.

In the garage... Recirc on, it's only cold on LOW and barely warm on HI, like 80°F. Everything in between is unconditioned. Recirc off, I got normal ops, 42°F on LOW and 100°F on HI.

@Helios I just noticed you're WA too. Are you in the Puget Sound?

I'm suspicious it's related to a recent weather change with temps dropping. I'm pretty sure the AC/heat switch temp based on external temps, I don't know their formula, but it's the weird morning heat and afternoon AC time for me, and it ain't getting it right!

I bet you have your original tailgate latches too. I'm about to be on my 4th... Really getting sick of these failed latches! I did learn how to take it off and shove it into the empty space to prevent the tailgate error warning that came with disconnecting it.

Does this mean you fixed it

I’m closer to Vancouver but regardless sounds like you’re having the same issues. However the erratic behavior of it cannot be explained by outdoor temps in my case — it basically always blows piping hot regardless of outdoor temperature, but if I do manage to push enough buttons in random order to get it to flip to blast 42 degrees, it’s always just one more button push from piping hot again… in short it’s wildly f-ed up

I did notice a little weirdness yesterday, driving around. But nothing that extreme. It would heat initially, then very quickly stop heating and blow cold air, even though it was 40° outside, and I had it set to 70° or so inside. Simply turning the climate control off and on while driving seemed to fix it, though.

I just noticed this HVAC problem last night. I had just done a hard reset on my R1S because I was trying to see if that would fix the internet connectivity issue I've been experiencing after the .35 update. Then I went for a drive to test things out and as I was driving out I turned the AC on and hot air was blowing out even though I had the settings to 67 degrees. So something with OTA 35 has really thrown some things off. I didn't have internet connectivity issues or HVAC issues prior to that version.

By the way, the hard reset did not help the connectivity issue.
