Congrats, I'm jelly.

Rivian was supposed to make an online swag store a LONG time ago but so far we've got nothin'.

Enjoy. I’ve been asking nicely for this stuff for two years. I always just get the same response that an online store is coming s00n.

Of all the quirks regarding communication with preorder holders, the wildly differing experience with stuff like this is probably the most frustrating personally. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason behind who gets extra swag and who doesn't, or what one person gets and what another gets.

I think it's awesome that you got that stuff, but it kinda sucks that everyone else didn't. There just doesn't seem to be any kind of policy that guides who gets what.

Aside from all the members of this forum, unless you are on here, who would know others got different swag.

since we are here, our Screen names may not correlate to their reservation holder database if they are monitoring this forum. If they knew us, I would guess they would send us swag that others are getting. As we are a small fraction of the current number of reservation holders.

I'm not sure I buy that, in the world of social media that we now live. People tweet this kind of thing out or post about it on IG. Imagining a world where I'm not on this forum but I'm on Twitter, if I saw a tweet from another Rivian preorder holder with this same picture, I'd feel the same way and I'd assume that anyone else in a similar situation would feel the same.

Assuming that some people won't know that they are not getting the same special treatment that others are getting isn't a great policy for how to treat a specific audience.

Why does the social media aspect even matter? To me, the bigger disappointment is that people are being treated differently. Whether it's random luck or there's some scoring algorithm that determines who is "worth" the swag doesn't matter. The "right thing" to do should not be dependent on who you think sees/knows about it.

I participated in two separate pre-order holder 1:1 interviews and I was sent some nice goodies as a thank you. Why people expect stuff for free without giving something in return is beyond me. Yes, you gave them $1000 up front, but that doesn’t count since it applies to your vehicle purchase.

I don't have any illusions about being entitled to anything as part of my pre-order, but there is absolutely an element of randomness to it that is disappointing.

For example, I know that my pre-order is relatively recent compared to most, so if they said "everyone with pre-order date prior to 2019 will get a free water bottle" then I'd think that makes sense and it's fine because there is a process for it. So far as I can tell, the prime factor involved in who has gotten this type of Swag seems to be a luck of the draw around who picked up the phone/chat.
