IMO, the styling of all Tesla's, excepting of course the CT, is best described as bland and inoffensive. The new MY represents a marginal improvement on the looks of the old model, but its overall theme certainly doesn't break away from the unremarkable style that defines Tesla..

Looks like a Toyota Prius :)
I think the Prius looks nice. I like the new Model Y changes and set it a part more from Model 3.

Model Y is never meant to be a traditional 2 box style SUV, like R1S/R2S. Its a crossover - CUV.

It's a great improvement. I always thought the Y looked super weird, like an AI version of the 3. I think a person would have to be insane to buy an R2/R3 over a Tesla, which is vastly more advanced, feature-rich, and still enjoys much better charging options.

This is incorrect. It was the best selling vehicle globally (electric or gas) in 2023 and 2024.
Ah, you must be referring to Tesla's vanity post on 12/31. So far, other than that, there is no evidence that MY beat the Corolla last year. We know that the Corolla was ahead in November and projected to be #1.

all the teslas (but for CT) look the same, 3, Y and X, the Y is a taller 3, the X is a taller 3 with door handles close together. I expect they will make this change to all 3 so they mostly remain indistinguishable from each other.

I think this was the inspiration for the lighting design:
Rivian R1T R1S Ugly competition: The Cybertruck has a competitor 1736523687603-9t

Talk all the Tesla smack ya want. The Y is the best selling car in the world and will hold that title with this refresh. Excellent upgrades
Tesla is going to be in trouble in the USA if overall sales don't rebound after the redesigned MY comes on the market.

Call me insane then. 1) I have zero interest in getting killed by FSD, 2) I enjoy driving far more than being driven. 3) The R2 and especially the R3 designs rock compared to these recent generic Chinese inspired MY tweaks. (Design is subjective, of course.) 4) Aren’t charging options exactly the same? I don’t follow.

On top of that, if I had to, I’d take an inferior car over a red-hat mobile. Fortunately, one doesn’t have to do that. The i4, the Ionics, the Fords, the GMs, the VWs, etc. amount to a rich field of alternatives already available. And with new Rivian offerings coming….

I’d sell Tesla short were I allowed to trade.

I think it looks far better than the outgoing one, which I had. I think the Y likely beat, or tied, a vehicle that I owned for the shortest period of time. It clearly held my record for the shortest period of time I owned a new car.

For having supposedly having so much of the DNA of the 3, I straight up hated the car to drive. The only reason I bought it over a 3 at the time, was to tow. I wanted an intact factory warranty if towing. In the US, you can face warranty issues if you put a hitch on the 3.

Sold the Y and bought a 3. Almost 3 years later, still have the 3. It is such a better car. Bought a Highland 3 Performance and some nice upgrades but the best is the improved performance.

I do like the looks of the new one and I also like the new Prius. I had them a few times as a rental over the last few years and the Prius is vastly improved and a lot better acceleration. A great road trip car.

I still think the CT is too hideous looking to drive no matter how good other parts of it are. I'll take its acceleration and 4 wheel steering over my R1T's but that is about where it ends. Ok, it efficiency seems to be better too when talking to my friends who have them.

They will sell a ton of the new Y's. Very curious to see how the new performance version runs, assuming they have one.

I have zero interest in FSD, but 30k+ miles on Autopilot taught me that it not only saves lives, but makes life all around better. So much more relaxed on drives, so much more attentive, so much less to worry about.

4) Aren’t charging options exactly the same?
Absolutely not, and it's caused issues for us doing the same route in a Rivian as in a Tesla.

On top of that, if I had to, I’d take an inferior car over a red-hat mobile.
Me too, fortunately, the Tesla isn't that. It's just a car. You keep your politics to yourself.
