I noticed that the suspension sags, particularly after returning home from week-long trips. This time, I took pictures before I left and after I returned. The sagging is more noticeable on the front suspensions compared to the rear ones.

I'm always on the standard height.

The air suspension has a leak. My r1t had this issue. Service center will need to replace it.

Nope. Looks like a slow leak.

For months my R1S would lurch to one side. I started taking a measuring tape to all four wheels daily and logging the data for service. Eventually, after many recalibrations, they got it to the point where the variance was less than an inch across all the wheels.

Do you know what they did?
Any parts replacements done?

Is this is really a big problem after 8 days. Mine looks kinda like that after a week and a half. How long do we expect it to take to say a bit?

mine also does this. I was gone about 10 days and it was totally slammed when I returned. A lot of other threads made me think that this was within normal spec and I haven’t taken it up with the service center yet. It would be useful to know if people have some sort of litmus test or barometer for how much sagging is considered normal.

as a follow on, does your car bring up a message saying that damage may occur if you drive it? I travel a lot and if I leave home for like a month or so when I return back and try to move the car, I get that message for several minutes maybe even like five minutes or more. The message goes away if you stop so I end up just driving a foot or two forward or backwards in my driveway just waiting for the message to go away. After some period of time that feels interminable the car has presumably regained enough air that the message goes away.

In kneel mode I had this from day 1. But it has never been an issue per se. Now that I stopped using kneel mode it is such a rare occurrence that it’s no longer a thing.

Also learned that storing the vehicle for anything longer than a few days is best done in shipping mode at the lowest ride height. Less energy consumption and with that fewer battery cycles - especially for the 12V battery.

Yes it should not need that, but it does not bother me.

Normal leak which can be fixed under warranty. My R1T has this issue, but I'm going to either not bother before trade-in, or have it fixed right before the warranty expires.

Not normal, open a service ticket.
My ‘23 quad R1t, 26k miles: front suspension, dampers , Jounce lines all replaced under warranty. My suspension took a dump last month, couldn’t drive the vehicle..

It seems strange that it's sagging at the end of a trip. I'd submit a ticket with your pictures and let Rivian sort it out.

It'd make more sense if it was losing pressure if it has been sitting around for a while. I left my truck at home for a two week vacation last year and when I got home, it was deflated. upon starting, it took a few minutes for the compressor to inflate it again and it was fine.

I also live at the top of a hill and my carport isn't completely level. I do notice that my truck be lower at the front (uphill) than the back after it sits for a few hours. My Audi did the same thing and I've always attributed that to the vehicle attempting to level itself. For example, I can go out there now and it'd be about 1-2 finger width difference from one side to the other however, if I park it elsewhere over night and it's flat, it'll be relatively level.

I have the same problem after a day or two the front end sags. I have a appt for it in May. I also notice in the service menu I can see the suspension reservoir pressure builds up to 17bar and slowly drops to 1 bar after 15mins.

I would strongly recommend you get it done sooner than later. I too had the issue of a leaking suspension. What it ultimately will do is damage your compressor. The compressor duty cycle will be reached causing your compressor to overheat and ultimately fail.

I too had it in kneel mode a majority of the time and didn't notice it much. It only became a problem when the car would not get out of kneel mode and had a compressor failure/overheating notification. Truck had to be towed to the service center.

Crazy that Rivian asked if I felt safe driving it to the service center. I did try to take it out of the driveway but stopped when I realised that there was literally no suspension. Car was slammed and the risk of tire contact at full steering lock scared me.

Get it addressed ASAP while it is still "driveable".
