I just ordered one as well. Lukas provided his design for the harness to comma.ai, so they are identical. His shipping estimate is 1-2 weeks, comma website has an estimated ship date of 4-6 weeks.
They only provide a USB-C coupler. You will still need a USB-C extension cable for this installation

Even though it might cost a bit more, I'd order Lukas' harness to help support his continued work. He has been very actively working to support this and continues to do so. The extra $$$ is a small price to pay to continue the support. There are still things to work out but he has made a lot of progress.

@godfodder0901 you might be correct. Based on the product page below, it looked like we are getting a short ODB-C cable. I would be upset if a $15 cable stalled my installation and ability to hit the road right after, so I got one just in case.

Well, that stings a little since I just spent a grand for the harness... Hopefully our early adopter investment helped speed this along. Maybe they can send us an official harness for free.

I hear you but that money was well spent. I've met Lukas and he's a great dude and wouldn't have been able to do this without your support. I'm meeting with him this morning to see if we can find some additional signals from the Rivian so he's still hard at work on improving the software. We all appreciate you helping make this possible.

Does Comma do in lane positioning, like scooting over when. Next to semi trucks?

I haven't noticed mine giving more room but when the system is active, you can nudge it to move over and it won't disengage the system. It smoothly takes back over without further interaction.

Not well enough that you'd want to use it. Lukas showed it to me and it won't go faster than the speed limit signs it detects because he hasn't figured out how to use the set speed signal from the wheel. It's not usable right now and may never be.

Read the entire thread. Agree with the comments about Rivian misleading us gen 1 owners, definitely feel that way myself. I just purchased a harness and the device, can't wait for them to arrive.

Was just thinking about the braking situation, and I can't remember where I read that Driver+ only used front disc brakes (not regen brakes, because of mobileye or possible overheating risk), wondering if someone knows the actual details. Specifically, in each of the separate scenarios (Rivian Adaptive cruise control, Rivian driver+, and open AI using Rivian), is the vehicle using Regen braking, front brakes only, all four brakes, or a mix of the above? Anyone know definitively? TIA

The mount has 3M adhesive on the back. The 3X unit "clicks" into the mount. You should be just fine, even with tint, just make sure you wipe it with alcohol and wait 48H for the 3m tape to cure before you mount the device

Agreed. I have a tint and the mount is rock solid.

Yes, you can easily get OTA updates. There is a Rivian branch for open pilot. Updates are posted there. No cost for the updates. It’s open source software.
