Since we are using anecdotes as evidence I’ve been on this forum a long time and most of the people who’ve taken long road trips have a closer experience to mine than yours.Haven’t really taken it too far on the road yet but this definitely isn’t a localized problem. It’s pretty much consensus experience on this forum and with the other Rivian owners I know. The ADAS system is far behind Tesla, Ford, GM for sure.. I haven’t used the Volvo/Polestar EVs yet but their ICE ADAS is solid so can’t imagine Rivian being better.
Everything about it is bad.. even when it’s working it’s far less stable than my Bluecruise car, has far fewer mapped roads and the sensors have less reliability/tolerance. Even its audio signals are bad - minor alerts are so jarring you would think a nuclear missile was incoming.
