Great!!!

Be warned though. It may return. This afternoon, I put my summer wheel/tire set on the truck and did the change in the 2025.06 menu. When I got back into the car, both screens had gone dark. Did an infotainment reset. After that, the tonneau cover would no longer open. Luckily, I was able to fix it again with the hard reset.

It’s interesting to note that I had done the wheel swap in the menu last week after getting the software update as the vehicle was not reflecting the winter tires I had on. So, I have a feeling 2025.06 created that issue in either the wheel swap feature (or the simple infotainment reset, though I would think it’s the former).

I have a ticket open and will add that info to it to help them pinpoint the software bug which it clearly is.

Update. Support called me back. I had spoken to them yesterday and they wanted to bring the problem up with their ‘tonneau’ team. Told him my findings and he confirmed the hard reset was the fix and seemed to confirm 2025.06 and the wheel swap was causing the issue so one would assume they’re working on an update.

Got exactly same problem on my Gen2 R1T. Never had issue until 2025.06.30 update. It does seem related the new software update. Tried car rest, didn't help. After seeing this post, tried the tonneau rest, it solved my problem. Thanks, OP.

Hey all. Have my R1T for 45 days. Gen 2. Today I noticed the tonneau cover would not open. Screen shows it as open but it’s actually closed, when I tap the infotainment screen or the button outside, it makes a brief motor sound and says ‘object detetcted’ on the screen which made me think it’s a sensor issue. Tried both soft and hard resets as well as holding down the open button. Nothing gives. Other remedies I should try?
Well I created an account on here just to reply and say thank you because that reset worked for me too! I washed my truck and then all of a sudden I was getting the object found error and dreaded thinking about having to go to service 8 days after taking delivery.

I just had this jammed power tonneau cover too, and this reset fix worked - thanks!! Mine is a Gen 2 R1T Max, and just installed the 2025.6.30 update; it's looking very likely this is the culprit!

Happy it fixed it for you as well. Had you used the wheel swap feature before experiencing the issue?

Were any of these (happily corrected) jams with v2 PTC?

I also had this issue 2 days after taking delivery. I thought maybe the hard vehicle reset I did to resolve another issue caused the cover to forget the home and open positions, so I did the cover reset procedure and now it is fine. I also had to do it twice as the first time it didn't seem to do anything.

When I saw your post, I was going to reply to try the reset procedure, but then I was too late. It was already resolved.

Rock on!
