How did it go? I am at this point now.. Do I cut, or just run without them.

Actually, I forgot where I saw this on the forum but I'm going with a third option:

Not going to cut, but not leaving it bare. I'll instead be replacing all the plastic panels with aluminum ones with grooves already cut for the running board. A bonus supposed feature is all the factory jack points are in place. This was recently released and I haven't seen any install videos of it yet, but I'm hoping the cover plates end up being a good option. Have to wait until May though...

Not sure those plates would work for me. I went with the Hannshow running boards, which mount completely different than the RMaxx boards.

I do have one more suggestion, for people like me....

I have a running board kit that requires removal of those plastic pieces. (Not Installed yet)

So another BRIGHT sticker that would have a hole in the middle, with some verbiage around the edge saying to insert JackPuck here.

Does that make sense?

I’ll check with our supplier to see what a small order would cost, but I want to be upfront—it’s likely to be expensive. Unfortunately, to get fair pricing for our customers, we have to order thousands of our epoxy dome emblems at a time.

While I know there’s interest in what you’re suggesting, the demand is much smaller in comparison, so we have to focus our resources where they make the biggest impact. I truly appreciate the idea, though, and I’m always open to feedback on what our customers want!

That makes sense.... I am still debating cutting my trays and putting them back on.

Just have not made a decision yet. I know my OEM 22" tires are not long for this world, so need to decide before I get new tires.

Heads up: Just heard from a customer whose neighbor had their R1S serviced at a local shop for a tire rotation. Unfortunately, the shop lifted the vehicle directly by the frame—plastic panels still in place and no jack pucks used.

Please make sure your service facility knows the proper lift points. And if they’re unsure, a set of our Jack Point Identifier Emblems can make all the difference.
