Yeah, in the last three years, the ONLY positive update was the auto-resume after changing lanes.
Concur. The disengages though - they certainly don't feel like they've improved at all from when my LE was delivered in May 2022.

You will never see any meaningful updates to Driver+. Gen 1 ADAS development is dead.
Thanks all. Feel like Rivian messed that one up a bit but such is the life of early adopters I guess. Looks like I will hit the buy button on my Comma 3X and harness. No discounts known?

Nope, I think it just came down. I helped support development and spent a grand to just get the harness.

I'd suggesting getting a different mount. The Chun one is good if back in stock.

I'm using this magnetic mount which is in stock and not very expensive ($67):

Btw, I just installed Lukas' harness, and whoever said it only took 30 mins must be very skillful. It took me at least 2 hours with many trial and error (while following the Rivian guide with clear pictures and instructions.)

The advantage of these other mounts is mainly the ability to pull the Comma off the windshield without messing with the usb c cable?

Yes. I wouldn’t want to leave it on the window all the time in the hot Texas sun. Not to mention risk of theft.

Hey fellow rochesterite,

Hey 52 and Driver+ inconsistency annoys me to no end. I suspect it's not just future mapping, but that every time there is construction and Rivian notes the abberancy, they deactivate that portion of the highway; it then takes forever to get remapped. Since there is construction every summer there, rinse and repeat. Maybe remapping will get faster with more Rivian's driving it, I don't know.

I bought comma and using it right now to drive 52. Life changing; flawless the whole way. Even just the hands free aspect alone, IMO, is worth it for the reduced body/shoulder fatigue on longer drives. And you can use it on non-divided highways, which may never come to driver+ on our gen 1s.

Just buy it. Money well spent for me.
Good to hear from a local, if I need pointers on the harness can I bug you for help?

Today when I drove around some moderate curves (speed limit 45mph with opposite one-way lanes), I found that comma ai pretty frequently made my R1S touched the lane separator, plus I got the error "Turn Exceeds Steering Limit - Take control" multiple times.

Understand that it's still using Rivian built-in ACC, but I still expected it to perform better in curves. Highway driving was perfect though even with slight curves.

I read on the discord that 2022 and 2023 rivians some of them have a weak steering rack and the torque needs to be boosted for turns under 40mph. You can find a build for this fix

Since I will be taken mine back and forth between R1T and R1S, do I just need to buy 2 of the essential or any real reason to buy the premium?

Thanks a lot, I believe that's what happened with my 2022 R1S.
I think I will stick with the main build as I won't want to risk having other issues, I just don't use it for low/medium speed curvy roads for now.

Would you still recommend getting the Comma 3X? I also have a 2022 R1S and hesitating because of the understeer issue. Thanks!
