Me too and easier to clean. If they offer plain aluminum option it would be clearly my first choice. Under car clean airflow is important too. At the same time, does the "venting" on the Rival actual help keep anything cooler?

Airflow is definitely something we consider in our designs. The factory Rivian skid plate does not include any venting in that area, which tells us that from an engineering perspective, Rivian didn’t see a need for airflow or cooling through that section. Adding venting where none existed can actually introduce unwanted "drag" and create new entry points for mud, sand, and debris. Our design follows Rivian’s original approach: keeping that area sealed for smooth airflow and optimal protection.

If you don't mind, can you elaborate on the decision to make yours 1-piece? Clear to me it's easier to manufacture than 2-piece. But from end user POV, aside from cost, what's the advantage?

A one-piece skid plate offers better durability and fewer potential failure points. With a two-piece design, the seam where the plates meet can become a weak spot if one side gets deformed during impact, it can lift or misalign, increasing the chance of snagging on obstacles.

Additionally, depending on the mounting points available, it can be difficult to securely fasten both sections with the same rigidity as a one-piece plate. Our design eliminates that concern by maintaining a seamless, solid structure that’s less likely to shift, flex, or catch on terrain.

I definitely want one, but will be waiting. I got burned on your rock sliders. Paid 2k plus tax, and they now cost $1,700.

Like this single piece solid design. I'll add a request to make a heavy duty part that replaces the stock factory silver plastic that is in front of this skidplate.

Don't feel too burned. I paid more than $2700 (including tax) back in late 2022 (perhaps early 20023?).

@DCE I wish you had announced you were working on this. I ordered (and eventually purchased) the Rival right after they announced theirs. Doh!

Self install! Set the vehicle on the highest setting and you're good to go! No cutting or fabricating needed.
While my leaky shock deflates slowly, I wouldn't bet my life in it. 7000 lbs is a lot. Always use some kind of jack or preferable jack stands.
