Radar Detector hardwire, who has done it?

I'd be interested in the STL. I'm still using the sticky cup that came with my R4, but it falls off the windshield on really hot days. I'm usually a Blendmount guy, but there's nothing that officially works.

Yep, That's the exact reason why I created the one I did. Honestly, it puts the detector almost in the same exact position as I would expect it to be if I were using a blendmount... just a little more to the bottom right of the rear view mirror.

Let me get things uploaded to thingiverse and makerworld, and then I will drop the link(s).

Just checking in to see if you ever got that file uploaded. Is it just attached with adhesive or is there some sort of tiny J hook that goes up into the slots or friction clips to hold it up?

I have a think I want to play with this idea and see what I can come up with.

Its designed to clip into the existing vent "lines" that already exist in that rear view mirror cover. No adhesives or anything like that. Its not anywhere yet. I had 1 person reach out and I emailed them the file with instructions and never heard back.

I love that, I was thinking the same thing, to click in. I will PM you and see if I could also get the file. It's summer time and I am worried about the super suction cup not staying and cracking the screen. I had this happen in an i3 before and boy was that an expensive lesson. Summer time in FL means suction cups not lasting all day in the heat.

I've had my suction cup come unstuck and the RD left hanging by the cord several times in full-sun.

Looking to see if anyone has done it yet. I am planning on a windshield mount just under the mirror. I don’t want to launch into pulling the interior bits out without knowing where a 12v source is.

I’ll be interested in this thread as well.

Interested as well, but I have a Escort which uses a different mount I think? and I don't have a printer.

It is a different mount. I have offered to modify the design for Escort detectors if someone sends me a suction cup mount (new or used).

I only have a current working product that is compatible with the Uniden R4, R7, R8, R4w and R8w. As mentioned earlier, I would be happy to modify the design to work with other detectors if someone is willing to send me the windshield mount for their detector.

If you have time to do one with the GoPro 3-prong mount? I have an Escort adapter for that format.
