Specific height, measurement if possible?

Hello! I’m super stoked about the Rivian R2 that is scheduled to come out in the next year, but I was wondering if anybody could tell me what the measurement is from the folded flat rear seat to the ceiling? Before I get too excited, I was hoping to find out if the Rivian height would be as much as the Scout height. I have a big dog, and the three vehicles I have reservations for are the Rivian, the scout, and the slate… but it seems as though the slate might be the best one out of the bunch because it comes in pick up truck style and I can buy just the shell without rear seats or any of the stuff I don’t need and I know that one should be the tallest. Even so, if the Rivian is close to the height, I need, I’d much prefer it given all the other attributes it should have.

Given that all anyone has seen are pre-production models I am not sure you will any detailed measurements until it is released..at the very least to the popular youtubers.

I don’t know that anyone has been able to physically measure that area, but I believe some here have used the iPhone measure app at events and shared it here. I would search for other R2 threads and you’ll eventually find it.

Kind of…but I need the measurement from inside, past the gate. My dog can jump in and clear the top of the surround, but unless the inside measurement is high enough he won’t fit standing up going down the road.

So you want the measurement of the floor while the 2nd row is folded down (so back of seats) to the top of the vehicle (glass)?

In the link I posted, the 28" measurement is to the top of the lowest point when you enter the trunk. There's a lip before the glass roof. You can assume another 2-3 inches so maybe 31-32" total. I can try to measure later today but it'll be several hours later since I'm at work now.

That would be awesome if you could thanks! You would laugh at the car that I was using before to haul my big dogs around… it was a Chevrolet Spark. Oddly, when I removed the rear seats, and fabricated a flat platform, I had almost 39 inches to work with, which was perfect. I just sold a Volkswagen Atlas, which also had approximately 39 to 40 inches toward the center with the seats folded flat. I suspect the Rivian R2 is going to be pretty much like a Rivian R1 with some of the length cut off and I’m assuming that the interior height would be almost the same. My guess would be that the scout will also have a similar interior, because with the batteries, taking up infrastructure below the floor, there must be some reduction of overall height inside. Before I get even more excited about the prospect of the R2 I just need to figure out if it’ll work for the intended use scenario.

I have a 70lb Bernedoodle which is on the large size, but not giant (she's got shorter legs but big everything else). She can stand and the fur on her head just touches the top of the glass. If you have a very tall dog, it might be tricky.

This is the best I'm going to be able to do for the R2. Here are pictures I took of the cargo area. For one big dog it looks sufficient, but we have two GSDs and I decided on getting an R1S instead of waiting for the R2 mainly because of size.

Okay, I borrowed a tape measure from a coworker. You're looking for this measurement, right? Granted it is for an R1S but you can assume the R2 will be the same or less.

The area closer to the front of the car is 32-32.5 inches and the area toward the rear of the car (while still measuring from the folded down 2nd row seat) is 33in. These measurements are right up against the glass.

Looks like I was pretty close to my estimate in post #8.
