Another Gen 2 Quad sighting in media (Hagerty video)

They are trying to get rid of the last bit of DUNE Tri Motor vehicles they have. They are pushing a tri motor incentive through the end of the 1/4 so for another week. I think the embargo will lift on July 1st as that will start Q3 and Quad will go on sale then.

Makes perfect sense actually. The hype is so real.

Still crossing my fingeres for an unlikely surprise of an R1X with more differentiation from the other R1 line. I had 2 Rivians over the last 3 years and unfortunitly in that time it has stopped turning heads or impressing just based on looks. I recently purchased an escalade IQ and while my Rivian was better in a lot of ways when you get over $120k like most gen 2 quad r1S will be its would be nice to have something that looks a little special. Only us Rivian nerds will notice the color of the brakes and slightly different style wheels.

Very unlikely, unfortunately. They probably have their hands full trying to prepare for the R2 release. I think with the "Gen 2" updates of last year and eventual NACS integration, we likely won't see much significant updates on the R1's for a while. I hope they do as well, but know they have lot on their plates as is.

I do wish they end up differentiating the Tri vs the Quad in some meaningful way. Like make one performance or off road focused (quad) and make the other more luxury (Tri). I guess we'll see!

Main reason I would expect the R1S to beat the Gravity Dream, especially off the line, is tires. Pilot Sport 5S tires will erase any small power, weight or COG advantages.

+1 They are waiting for the end of Q2 to put the Quad on sale to avoid cannibalizing any sales.

You raise a good point about the tires. I didn't consider that. This will be interesting!
