Rivian R1T R1S >300kW at a RAN today 1000007386

Most of the people charging at the station were not Rivians. It did error out at some point on my charge though, not sure what the deal was. Stopped with the truck at 56%. No issues after another session.

These trailer spots are great, but would be too short with a longer trailer.

Thank you for posting the follow up picture of the Silverado… because I was starting to wonder how you overclocked your Rivian so extremely.
Sierra ;)

If GM can deliver a 800v truck at their price point, there’s no reason Rivian can’t.
The simple answer is: GM developed that platform from scratch ask an 800V platform starting many years ago. Rivian developed their platform as a 400V platform – starting many years ago.

Yes, if Rivian had started out making it an 800V, sure. But they can't just wave a magic wand and *poof* R1 architecture is 800V.

Yes there is.

Rivian is not one of the largest automobile manufacturers in the world with many profitable vehicles that can subsidize their unprofitable BEVs. If Rivian doesn't generate cash from each vehicle produced they go bankrupt.

There is a huge difference between GM and Rivian.

Well, the profitability argument is kinda moot now. Rivian isn’t generating gross profits right now, without regulatory credits. And GOP just got rid of them completely today. Not sure when Rivian plans on achieving gross profit without regulatory credits, let alone operating profits.

My statement isn’t so much about why Rivian isn’t offering 800V *today now*. But there’s absolutely no indication they plan on it in the near future.

Not a true 800V?

I have used that RAN a few times. Many Michigan RAN stations have trailer access.

Interesting you could see 300 KW. The most I have seen at RAN have been under 200 KW.

Wow! That's incredible! The highest I have ever hit was 165kW, and that was when I let the battery drain to 19%!

He didn't do it in his Rivian.

It is possible you could see an improvement after the latest OTA update. I was able to sustain 200kW+ for quite a while when starting below 50%.
