Time is likely running out on this sale. If it follows most of their other sales, tomorrow will be the last day !!!

I love driving my truck, but this current trip Vancouver to Saskatchewan and back, really has me wishing more roads were Driver+ enabled.I do, but there are times where a break is very nice on long trips. Like, driving straight thru from the Willamette Valley down to San Diego, being able to keep your hands off the wheel is actually very relaxing. Great for the bloodflow. I only showed the offroad thing to show capability. The only use I ever see there is if you're out by yourself and get hurt, you can maybe make it out to where others can reach/see you easier without as much "driving".
Newbie here - with SunnyPilot being recently outdated (I assume because the main branch of OpenPilot got an update), does that mean if you want longitudinal control you’ll always have to run the outdated version of SunnyPilot or will there be new “versions” of SunnyPilot. On the default OpenPilot software, it's as @godfodder0901 said; the standard Rivian ACC is used for throttle-control, so the behavior on the steering wheel scroll wheels / buttons is the same.
Switching to the SunnyPilot software requires the upgrade harness in order to keep those steering wheel controls working. There is a branch of SunnyPilot which is now outdated (as of like a week ago, so it's still highly usable), which lets you adjust speed & follow settings on the 3X itself.
The side-view cameras work on all versions of OpenPilot/SunyPilot. Blind-Spot-Monitoring also works, however an auto-merge will not be prevented unless you're on SunnyPilot + Upgrade Harness.
It is not Sunnypilot that is outdated. Lukas Loetkolben, the man responsible for making all this happen for the Rivian, created a special fork of Sunnypilot that includes on screen buttons for speed control max setting. He is not supporting the fork going forward, so it is what it is for now. The build was to give folks a taste of the longitudinal control without having the added longitudinal harness. It violates some of the safety protocols by having you interact with the screen, so it's not something that would ever be a supported feature.Newbie here - with SunnyPilot being recently outdated (I assume because the main branch of OpenPilot got an update), does that mean if you want longitudinal control you’ll always have to run the outdated version of SunnyPilot or will there be new “versions” of SunnyPilot.

Sunnypilot is continually being worked on and supported.

I’m on the fence between using the stock Comma harness and the upgraded harness for SunnyPilot. I will only be using it on highways.
For this use case specifically, is it less reliable or less smooth with the stock harness/Rivian longitudinal control when compared to Comma longitudinal control?
I’m ok with losing out on the extra functions of the upgraded harness/SunnyPilot, mainly interested to know if it would be a worse experience for highways.
I will say, adding the longitudinal harness later is not the same undertaking as the main harness, so if you wanted to wait and see, it wouldn't be a frustrating experience later. For anyone considering this approach, the only thing I would do is grab an additional USB C 3.2 cable and run it along with the ODB USB cable that comes with the comma. This would make adding the long harness super quick only needing to access the footwell area.Makes sense, thank you for the explanation.

I think the discount is gone. the longtitude upgrade is price is at 349 now with no bundle discountDone. I just put an order in for comma and the harness.
off topic - I hope you're enjoying the sunshade we tested. I have some upgrades on order to help both of us with keeping the sunshade stable at 80 mph with all the windows down.

If you're seeing 349€ then you selected the incorrect version to pair with Lukas' harness. Be sure to open the drop down and select for the Loetkolben Harness. It defaults to the comma harness variant.I think the discount is gone. the longtitude upgrade is price is at 349 now with no bundle discount
