auto zoom is really bad, hard to follow how far are the turns. That said, it should be fixable.No. It’s horrible. That was the correct word. I will just continue to use my phone for navigation which is safer than trying to follow a Rivian map that zooms so far in that you can no longer see where you need to be going.
You are indeed correct. I initially thought the voice had changed, but alas it has not. I stand corrected.Well, it should be pretty easy for you to let us hear the new voice...
It would be weird that you are the only one who got new audio, as many others are reporting that it's the same...
Same here - disabled the Samsung one on my phone. I have not turned on Alexa in my R1 either. If Rivian adds Gemini to the infotainment system, they'd better allow owners to opt out. I disabled Gemini on wherever I found it and I don't want it in my vehicle, either.
Did you try a soft reboot?Has a good looking interface, but not working properly. R1S Gen2. Won't calculate miles, arrival time, etc. When I manually input a destination it displays a route, which looks fine, but if I am facing the wrong way and go to the next street it won't recalculate the route. I have to ask it to try again. Alexa seems extra dumb about finding locations. Hope these are bugs that will be fixed or somebody can tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Sure. But I'm talking about completely normal things like "south-", "-teen", "teenth", etc. I can use any nav app and those things are pronounced completely normal.Eh. All platforms have streets they pronounce incorrectly. Technology is imperfect. Good thing we all know how to read. Right?
I’m somewhat in the same boat as you, Gen 1, R1T with similar “problem”. Mine won’t even work if I press the try again - parked it up for work for the day, but did a soft / hard reset ready for when I go back to it later… fingers crossed that’s all it is that’s needed to get it back up and running again.Has a good looking interface, but not working properly. I’ve used it on a handful of typical trips where I wouldn’t use/need to use Nav and this has been my experience, too.Two positives so far for me:
- Zoom near a turn is much better. I hated how MapBox zoomed in so close when you got 0.5 miles from a turn that it wasn't helpful to know much about the upcoming turn
- Re-routing: if I chose to go a different way than MapBox suggested, it would constantly suggest u-turns for minutes on end. Google Maps seems to quickly understand that I've chosen an alternative route.
Rivian mobile app > scroll to bottom > tap on "share feedback"Sure. But I'm talking about completely normal things like "south-", "-teen", "teenth", etc. I can use any nav app and those things are pronounced completely normal.
This is how Rivian butchers it.
Interesting that you mention this - I thought I noticed a slight improvement, but I figured it was just my imagination.....Did anyone notice any difference in the ride quality/comfort after the update? Thanks
It was only for Gen 2.Interesting that you mention this - I thought I noticed a slight improvement, but I figured it was just my imagination.....
