I've heard it was pretty rough on the gen1 enduros but it got better with the gen2s as they refined the clutch engagement tuning? Tri would be preferable, for sure, but the ultimate objective here is to refresh my warranty without substantially adding to my monthly vehicle expense.
Does the tri not have a disengagement mode for Eco mode? As in, the front motor is an induction motor and the rears are permanent magnet? Not sure why the dual motors don’t have that as it would solve all these clutch nonsense issues.

It does - that's the reason I only use it when I need the range (the clunk drives me nuts). Might have been alluding to Gen 1 eco mode, which permanently disconnects the rear motors (at the expense of uneven tire wear issues).

It would be less confusing if modes with the same name didn't mean different things based on what variant you were driving.

I went for the PDM (22" sport bright, +paint, -sound and vision) during memorial when they had 16k in lease incentives and sold my G1 '23 quad. The ADAS is much better (though still far from perfect), cameras are clean and crisp, supposedly ~100 miles of range more. It also leaves open for whatever self driving they have in the future, if you're into that sort of thing. I keep mine in snow mode for always on AWD which has more than enough power for daily use. I heard they're going to have a option for this without doing snow mode. Sport mode gets you much closer to the quad performance to pass on a two lane road.

I got ~$63k for 32k miles. My 24 month lease is ~1,200/mo, 0 down, 0 trade-in, 3k at signing.

I did some reading and it turns out that induction motors are not fantastic for low rpm high torque scenarios compared to permanent magnet and Rivian didn’t want that.

Maybe for you but OP stated his monthly saving would be ~$95 (after putting down ~$4600)….thats not massive savings (or really any savings if you extrapolate that over the term of the lease. The real decision is whether one is comfortable owning past warranty….
Correct - its honestly close to a wash on the monthly and I do sacrifice the positive equity I have now to make this happen. The only reason to do it is to restart the warranty clock (and get a fresh set of tires!). Really uncertain as to where the resale value goes on the Gen1 quads, but it seems unlikely to go up until 2040 when they become collector cars.
