THANKS!

One more question, looks like in Sunny Pilot you can choose which driving model to use (CRT, TR15, DTRv4, v5, etc). Coming from Open pilot where there appears to be just THE ONE model, what model works with Rivian for 2 lane, 60 MPH cruising?
TR 16v2 on mostly 2 lane roads. There are times where it'll hug the outside of a lane, but really good otherwise.

At work (boo) and can't download now, but how do the models work? Can you 'change on the fly'?

Also, are there any specific options in Sunny a Rivian should turn on, like Turn Off With Brake . Others?

As long as you're in "Off Road mode" (ie ignition off mode), you can download and switch to new models. You can't do it while you're driving.

As for SP settings:

1. Turn on: Developer > Openpilot Lonitudinal (alpha)
2. Turn on: Steering > Lane Change > Nudgeless +0.5s
3. Turn on: Steering > Lane Change > Lane Change Delay with Blind Spot
4. Turn on: Visuals > Blind Spot monitoring display

I think that's about it...

With out the second harness, does the Sunny system have access to the blind spot monitors? If not, I would think I would do lane changes as with Open Pilot ( turn signal and a Nudge).

If Sunny does get the monitors, this is SO cool.

Also, just found an ABOUT that has good data on Sunny. It looks a bit old but describes the otions in the software. https://github.com/sunnypilot/sunnypilot-archive. Will be asking less questions now, thanks.

I'm just trying to learn about the options.

Ah sorry, I thought you had the harness upgrade. no, without the upgrade you don't get any blind spot monitoring through the Comma so you would probably want to stick with nudge lane changes.

So installed and got TR16v2. Seems to wander on road more than Open Pilot. Don't know how to find what model Open Pilot is running (google failed me).

I changed back to TR15. While loading, it looked like it took some cached data and did some training? Was surprised. Should I clear the data on a model change?

Thanks!

That's surprising to me. Mine is really good on TR16v2, minus the occasional lane hug.

The data can be cleared on model change, though it isn't mandatory. It will prompt you to perform a recalibration when shifting between the families of models. If you feel it isn't operating properly, there isn't really any harm in clearing the cache and recalibrating.

Just took the plunge on the 3X now that my truck is back from a long list of SC issues (and has basically a brand new suspension and subframe). Here’s what I got:

-Comma 3x
-Harness and Longitudinal Upgrade from Xnor
-USB extender and magnetic detach for aux USB
-Janka slide mount

So, won’t be able to do the install till my parts get from China and Germany. Should be done for an upcoming road trip to Tahoe, though, assuming no delays on the imports.

I’m looking forward to ADAS that doesn’t randomly lose its mind :) Coming from Autopilot that also made questionable decisions, Driver+ somehow feels more unsafe than that. I also dig the idea of MADS.

For those running the same, I have E rated 20” Nitto Ridge Grapplers, so I’ll report on how the steering does since I know tires can impact until Rivian’s steering setup is properly hacked.

Nice! Looking forward to seeing the results of your tire setup as well and adding the data to our study!

The Comma comes from America.

For anyone looking for info on different drive models, the l best site with summaries I've found is run by Gerry! Maybe everyone knew this but me, but thecommaspce.com is the only place that I've found that describes what groups of models were designed for and what there reputation is for real world performance. Site has other Comma info, but the drive model info is one of a kind for me.

A shout out to Gerry for doing his website! It seems updated often enough it warrants a daily read for learning about new comma info. Bookmarked! I've also seen his YouTube videos on comma in the Rivian. THANKS, really enjoy them and specifically the website!

PS I had neve used Discord before. What a terrible place to put unformation for later use. A true website like Gerry has or a forum like this one is so much better at organizing information(Gerry's charts comparing different model attributes are so nice!) for later retrieval and searching and teaching a new person. Not enjoying my time over at Discord.

I finally figured out the switch to ”cookiemonster tomb raider”. After install, it does not seem like I have the above options? I was able to turn on openpilot longitudinal(alpha). I do not see a Lane change option. I have a lane change modifications tab, but differing options there. No Nudgeless, but a +and - button that turns nudge off. I have the “Lane change Delay with blind spot”. …but it is greyed out and will not let me toggle it on. Any suggestions?

Use Sunnypilot and ensure you are in Always Offload mode, and have the add-on harness longitudinal.
