So i have a 2025 R1T Tri and have now received 3 separate letters over the past 4 months or so explaining that there is a possible issue with the headlamps in cold temperatures. Each letter says i will be notified when a remedy becomes available, but after 4 months or so you would think they would have a plan of action. Its not urgent as we are still in summer but did'nt know if anyone had any info on when a fix is in the works or why this is taking so long to get fixed. Thanks

I was wondering this as well. Not sure why I needed so many notices telling me of a future date fix.

Totalled. Dump the car. 🙄

Rivian isn’t the only manufacturer with this kind of recall. Nothing new in the industry.

Reasonably ask yourself…
Can I still drive?
Does the headlight work?
Am I still alive?
Was my life threatened during most recent drive?
Is it cold now?
Have I experienced any problems with the headlights?

Keep calm and carry on. The issue will be resolved eventually.

For now, but what about the turn signal recall too?! (I'm guessing that's where the "3-4" letters thing came from and general lack of observation)
Isn’t turn signal separate from headlights in gen2? Either way moot to grouse over an issue that one doesn’t have DIY solution for. OP can always complain directly to Rivian. What use is there to vent on a forum with zero official connection to Rivian corporate?

I took this post more as a request for information, if anyone has heard of the fix rolling out, instead of a complaint. I was wondering this very same thing after I kept getting a letter telling me the same information.

WTF. Is there anything in my original question that expressed panic or outrage - I thought it was weird to get multiple letters on the same recall over 6 months with no new information and was just asking if someone on the forum had new information. Relax dude no one is trying to steal your lunch

...but after 4 months or so you would think they would have a plan of action.
The recall announcement implies that they do have a plan of action. It's likely that they are waiting for the OEM supplier (probably in China) to redesign/manufacture the parts and get them to the SCs.

"The headlight low beam may fail to illuminate when starting the vehicle in cold weather. To fix the issue, the company said it would replace the headlight control modules at no cost to customers.

Certain vehicles were equipped with headlamps that did not meet the intended product features due to incorrectly configured parts from the supplier, the company said."

Recall announcements don't imply that at all. They only imply they've identified a problem and the potential scope of it. Rivian technically has a solution, but since it's on their dime, they are trying to mitigate the expense of it (They could replace all of the headlamps with newly produced ones). NHTSA doesn't really propose a timeline for action, but they do, perhaps, give you recourse if you feel it's taking too long. Which is how I got rid of my Bolt EV while GM's battery fiasco was proceeding.

I agree that in general, a recall does not automatically imply a solution. But in this specific case, based on Rivian's specific wording, I'll stick with my claim that this one does have a plan of action - it's specific.

"The headlight low beam may fail to illuminate when starting the vehicle in cold weather. To fix the issue, the company said it would replace the headlight control modules at no cost to customers.
