I’ll believe it when they actually face some real consequences…. I doubt that will ever happen because we live on the worst timeline.

Best quote from the article.

“Right now, there are real robotaxis carrying real people on real roads. None of them is a Tesla.”

Bryant Walker Smith

This is going to be interesting to watch as an EV consumer as lying in the automotive space is essentially a right of passage with most manufacturers claims garbage in garbage out. Difference is people died with Tesla lies. Maybe their fault or not, but again should be interesting to watch. Infinite money can delay something like this essentially forever.

FWIW I love our Y @ $299/Month lease. It's a great heavy safe car for our new driver and cheap as heck to operate ($0.05/KW at home) just like our R1T. It's another design point of view for EV's slippery and light requiring less battery that Rivian and heavier alternatives (i.e. Hummer) for a similar range. (300ish).

Rivian has $16k in incentives right now. Might want to tone down on the smack talk Lol
So your point is that Tesla is as desperate as Rivian? :CWL:

Actually, they have $8k in incentives. $6.5k for performance/max or tri/dual max, and $1.5k for a trade. The other $7.5k is the EV credit, not exclusive to Rivian, nor paid by them.

Waaaay more desperate when it comes to the cybertruck. They can't sell those at all. It sells worse than the Edsel.
Soon they will be giving them away as door prizes at Leon’s Ketamine parties.

While I do believe the damage to Musk's image over the last few years is well deserved, I can't help but roll my eyes at these lawsuits. Does Tesla play fast and loose with marketing? Yes. Should they have avoided effectively pre-selling a feature without a release date? Yes. Could any person have easily determined Teslas DON'T drive themselves? Absolutely, within 30 seconds in a showroom or on a test drive.

This lawsuit like all the others is an indictment of the way Musk communicates, and perhaps he deserves the headache, but to me this is just lawyers looking for a big payday. Tesla has invested billions into this tech and I believe the entire industry is better for it. There is no scam here, just a really really hard technical problem and an overly optimistic blabbermouth CEO.

Ok? $6500 is still a chunk. Nobody is selling cars was my point. But Tesla and Elon live in Rivian fanboys’ heads 24/7
