OP is in a tough spot. Being third owner he is not a customer of SoFlo, not a customer of Rivian.

Probably should not have purchased from a ford dealership if it was not running properly and road worthy. Best bet unless they signed an as is contract is to go back to the dealer. Of course if it was working properly when purchased not going to have any luck there either.

The difference is Gregory was trying to restore his Rivian to stock functional condition. Who knows what happened here, but it is NOT stock condition.

Your truck was heavily modified and they probably put aftermarket upper and lower control arms on it to "lift" it, or at least put brackets in there, creating your "jarring bumpy ride." Their parts probably weren't rated for the extra couple thousand pounds, leading to cracked arms or other broken parts.

Do us a favor: take pics of the below parts on your Rivian and post them.

I will ask my mechanic tomorrow on Monday, maybe I can show him this post. And he can tell me what to do. But right now, we are going to see if this hard reset update they gave me will work, but it's not the update we wanted. He fixed everything physical according to him. I saw the front brackets were re-welded due to a crack.

Ya well that's the future. I am pretty sure nearly all Rivian employees use AI to communicate high stake situations. One guy told me they all use it when communicating with higher ups.

Assuming this is even a legit post and not some trolling or AI crap, stop blaming, psychoanalyzing and trying to coerce and manipulate Rivian technicians. Rivian has policies that employees follow, just like any other company. It's clearer (still not exactly clear) that this vehicle has a history. Somewhere along the line, Rivian decided that there are unacceptable liabilities due to something someone has done to the vehicle. It has extensive third party modificaitons. One or more people in this steaming mess were/are aware of it.

One thing is certain - it's a rare vehicle, but not in the sense OP thinks it is. 🙄

Wow went to the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona yesterday to come back to this crazy discussion. This is way more entertaining than anything else I had going on today. I am sure we will never get to see the real backstory on this. I didn't want to post images from other sites, but if you go to the about page on the Soflo website one of the pictures shows a shot of the garage full of trucks and shows the before image of what became the Nirvana in the Electrek story. The Eletrek story shows a few glimpses of the suspension modifications if you want to get a peak at it. Obviously very major changes were made. Soflos website also has lots of videos and images of the Nirvana. I suspect the OPs truck is similarly modified.

I’m dealing with a high-stakes $70k issue and want to escalate it to the executive level at So Flo and Rivian. So far, a front-line service center employee took down my information on a note to pass it up, and I’ve also reached out to Truck Dynasty on Instagram—they confirmed they’ll forward my contact to the appropriate team.

It’s been challenging because store-level staff are naturally in self-preservation mode. One lead seemed more concerned about not being late to a Chilis reservation than handling this high-stakes issue—like the Western Union guy in Due Date. My tech, who drove the Rivian to the service center, even said, “That lead wants us out of there” and never wants us to come back. This is a clear example of why escalating to someone with authority is necessary to resolve the situation efficiently.

Ya my car is the Nirvana. Their GM claims they only made two, then stopped because their Rivian tech left and probably because of software gatekeeping.

If you modify the car that heavily, I feel like they’re likely going to say everything is out of spec now and not covered by them, etc…
Why would that preclude an update? Sure there are probably things that would likely impact warrantable but not serviceability or software support. Mods are to be expected. Look at owners updating or completely replacing their stock (disappointing) audio systems. They’re not getting blocked for it yet they’re actually replacing electrical and infotainment components. OP isn’t asking for warranty work or for Rivian to repair components they’ve replaced. Simply re-enable the vehicle following the updates. This is not unlike Rivian originally being tight about owners that were using non stick wheels and tires. They were denying service. They finally relented. As the fleet of expands and ages they need to adjust and accommodate not just more mods but more repair options as well.

I’m reaching out because my So Flo Customs Rivian (one of only two built) has been out of service for months. The car is fully repaired, but it cannot operate because the service center is refusing to perform a software update required for the airbag that operates the ride height suspension.

Despite having a third-party technician with years of experience on-site, the Costa Mesa service center has dismissed their input and continues to block the update. At one point, the lead aggressively approached my technician, their co-workers, and me in an attempt to stop the update.

After repeated roadblocks, I felt I had to raise the stakes by asking about escalation to regional managers. The front-line employees’ reactions were striking—they seemed overwhelmed, almost emotional, rather than focusing on innovation or finding a solution. It was clear that the standard processes weren’t allowing them to advocate effectively.

I’ve followed all procedures and tried to escalate appropriately, but the update remains stalled. My goal is simply to get the vehicle fully operational while following proper channels.

Has anyone successfully navigated flagged vehicles or managed to get similar updates approved? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This is the company in UAE I referred our Kazakhstan Rivian owner to. They are the only people I know in the world that I am aware of that can perform updates on their own outside of Rivian.
