Anyone else having issues downloading the 2025.26 update? I received the update notification earlier today, initiated the update and after a while of being stuck at 7% it said it failed & I need to contact Rivian to continue to receive updates.
I called Rivian, they said - soft reboot and we will push it again. I did all that, got it again an hour later, started it and it failed again at 7%. Back to square one. My R1S is in my garage with perfect Wifi coverage and connected to a charger.

I know many of you got it, but just wondering if it's failing for someone else or it's just me? Historically when there are many people reporting a failure I know Rivian would release a hot fix...which is a better alternative to waiting 3 months for SC and not receiving updates :(

Thanks!

I had to do one infotainment restart to get it to complete downloading, but then unfortunately it failed at 94%. Spoke the Rivian CS who called back and advised a hard restart and then today tried again to upgrade to no avail - like a few others on reddit am now needing to go to a SC to get it completed (thankfully am already going next tuesday.).

Be careful with a hard reboot for this update failing. I did this last week (Rivian support on the phone, directing me to do so) with my Gen2 R1S in the garage and it bricked. Totally dead. Tow truck had to drag it out. If this ever happens again, I'll do the reboot with the truck parked outside.

I think my situation may have been caused by a combination of 12V battery issues AND the update failing.

I was very cautious as a result of your story - thankfully though it got me up and running to the point where I can drive the truck (I'm holding judgement in the new ADAS until the update is actually successfully applied - I tried it for a few mins and it was wild - drifting over lanes in mild conditions).

Auch! Noted! In the other hand, if you get completely bricked don't you get priority in SC instead of waiting 3 months for an appointment?

I called Rivian service this morning again. They pushed the update again (for the 3rd time), it failed again at 7%. I am now scheduled for service next Thursday :/ Bugger.

Likely, but you also don't get to use your vehicle for at least a week and will be driving around an Enterprise rental in the meantime. I'd just wait my turn. Most service centers I was just looking at recently were 45 days out, but I was able to find one 2 weeks out by driving to one 60 miles away.

I have a 2022 r1t will not load 25.26.01
Tried all reboots. I do need the new 12v battery. So maybe that's my problem also they came to change it and brot the wrong one . Waiting for rohnert park service center to open to get it fixed.

How does one know if they need a new 12V battery (before it dies)? I get no errors and haven't gotten a call from Rivian for a replacement either...

I wouldn't recommend checking the battery yourself. My understanding of the issue is that the battery terminal and/or the bracket causes premature battery failure. It's under your front passenger seat. There's another post on this forum showing the corrosion caused by the battery failure. Even as an experienced DIY mechanic and electrician, I wouldn't touch it.

Edit: Not the thread that I was thinking of, but here's an extreme example of the Gen2 battery issue.

Edit2: Found it.

In case you're curious, the procedure for replacing the battery with the revised bracket is called "FSAM-1635". The procedure document can be found here.

Rivian officially diagnosed the cause of my failed update as "12V Battery was causing communication issues for update".

Interesting! Will post once my SC is over but my build date is June 2024, and the bulletin lists August 2024 as the start of the issue.

My build date was July 2024, also out of the date range. "Approximate" is the key word here.
