Mine is going in tomorrow or Friday to have the V2 tonneau installed. This will be the 3rd replacement. My first V1.5 failed catestrophically right in front of the person who had driven my truck 100 miles from the SC to meet me in the middle to exchange my truck for the loaner I had (which was hilarious—
), so they ended up replacing it in the field with two technicians a couple weeks later. The second V1.5 has mostly worked for about a year, but it won't retract when it's hot/sunny unless I whack the second slat right when it gets to the seal, since it bows due to thermal expansion.
For the past month or so, I have been told that my Sept. 17th appointment would likely have to be canceled due to lack of parts (even as recently as a call yesterday), but they called me this morning to say that they secured parts earlier than expected, and should have mine tomorrow, so I expect it will be done and picked up by next week (in addition to a couple other items). I have asked many times over the past couple months to confirm that it will be the new roll-up design—I've mostly gotten vague "yes, it should be" responses. Today I was reassured that it is the new design, though the service advisor was calling it V3. I'm not sure if this is now how they refer to it internally, or if he was just confused, but all signs point to this hopefully being the final tonneau for my R1T (it only took four times
