Mine is going in tomorrow or Friday to have the V2 tonneau installed. This will be the 3rd replacement. My first V1.5 failed catestrophically right in front of the person who had driven my truck 100 miles from the SC to meet me in the middle to exchange my truck for the loaner I had (which was hilarious—🤣🙄), so they ended up replacing it in the field with two technicians a couple weeks later. The second V1.5 has mostly worked for about a year, but it won't retract when it's hot/sunny unless I whack the second slat right when it gets to the seal, since it bows due to thermal expansion.

For the past month or so, I have been told that my Sept. 17th appointment would likely have to be canceled due to lack of parts (even as recently as a call yesterday), but they called me this morning to say that they secured parts earlier than expected, and should have mine tomorrow, so I expect it will be done and picked up by next week (in addition to a couple other items). I have asked many times over the past couple months to confirm that it will be the new roll-up design—I've mostly gotten vague "yes, it should be" responses. Today I was reassured that it is the new design, though the service advisor was calling it V3. I'm not sure if this is now how they refer to it internally, or if he was just confused, but all signs point to this hopefully being the final tonneau for my R1T (it only took four times 😞).

That went nowhere.

Service centers stance is they will not put a tonneau cover on a vehicle that doesn't already have one, or was part of the order.

I touched on others having had them installed same situation, they said they couldn't comment on that, but at this time they weren't doing retrofits
Following up on this because there is a faint light at the end of the tunnel...

Per support just now, the PTC is going to be available in the gear shop starting tomorrow. I was told it would be $2200 cdn (probably miss heard that one) when asking if I could add it to the service visit they said they could do that once it's available in their system. But... They said mine was incompatible Gen 1 2023 quad. They said dual and dual standard were okay, but not the quad, or at least my vin. I asked if she could escalate because seemingly documentation (here) says it's possible.

She's going to get back to me.

I don’t have PTC on my 2023 Quad R1T.

I just scheduled an appointment for a PTC install, the 1st day they’re available 10/15 at El Segundo SC for ~$3100 including tax. I don’t have a PTC button currently.

Will I live to regret this? TBD…

Maybe that explains why the manual cover has disappeared from Gear Shop as of yesterday (to revise item page and include both versions). $2200 cdn? Sounds too good to be true.

They can do it. Do part of #1, then do #2. They just need to change the channels to the appropriate one.

Slightly annoying that it’s available in the gear shop but my SC is experiencing delays getting me one for my PTC that’s been stuck sideways and unable to open or close for two months…
Calm down. Did you look at link? Just because it's now officially listed in the GS doesn't mean people can get theirs right away. To order you have to call and schedule appointment, which may be months away and with the same delays. No one can add to cart, check out and—voila—PTC!

I did look at the link and understand it’s not instantaneous. That’s why I’m just ‘slightly’ annoyed. ;-) My point really is some owners have non functioning PTCs that have been in that state for a while. I’d have thought they’d refrain from marketing until they’ve cleared that backlog… but that’s just me.
