A few things I noticed:

-One of the photos shows a brake caliper in gray (in photo 6, as supposed to yellow), so looks like they are validating all kinds of trims, I'd assume. Hopefully this means we get the dual or single motor trims not too far off the launch or tri.
-Last two photos shows a rim in a black color, which I was looking for. Can't wait to see it in the configurator, as I'm sure it will look sick.
-The overall fit and finish (from the outside) looks great. No awkward alignments or gaps (except for the hood area in the last picture). Hopefully this means these are easier to build and come with less issues from the factory as they hopefully nail down initial quality on these.
-From the rear, the height and departure angles look great. Glad Rivian was able to stick with their offroad ethos for the R2 series. Hopefully it rides as well on road as offroad.

Rivian, please give us the configurator! It will at least keep us entertained until we see them in person.

These are coming off the prototype production line in California. They move the design of that "prototype" production line to Normal for the real ramped production. They have to do validation builds at each step along the way. So do not take this as a sign they are ahead of schedule. RJ covered this in his last podcast.

Hard to tell but the pic where the driver is smiling at the camera, it looks like the pillars/headliner are not black. I really hope that's still an option on the R2's. I cannot stand light colored roof lining. If there is an option, I always get black.

As best I can tell, it looks like, the A-pillars at least, are light colored on ALL of the examples shown in this gallery.

I'd really hope the seat height is as low as the R1T in kneel mode if not a smidge lower. I'd like to replace my wife's car at some point with a R2. Imagine....all Rivians in the driveway....plus the 31 year old Camaro in the garage ;)

yeah, and the visors, you can see are also light colored. I'm hoping this is just the option for light colored interior like on the R1's. That's the biggest reason I didn't get a light seat magterial because it removes the black headliner. I know I'm probably a minority here, but I just hate hate hate, light colored materials...probably because even a tiny stain drives me crazy and eventually, it seems like someone always manages to stain it. lol

I assume and hope the light headliner is tied to the lighter interior. I agree with you, though I will say, the white headliner on my ocean coast interior has fared quite well.

I hope some of these R2 spend the coming winter in colder climates for day-to-day testing.
I have seen pre-production Rivian R1s and Tesla Cybertruck near Lake Tahoe (California) for some winter testing. Hopefully there will be some R2s on the road to get pre-production sightings.

Don't read too much into what trim or pillar colors you see in prototypes. It means absolutely nothing. These are prototypes, they can be any color they want including basic black or white. Some interior pieces are even straight off of the 3D printer.
