You are the first person to confirm. Thanks so much! I am super happy it helped someone else. The difference seems pretty stark to me.

Yup. Bass is thumping where it should. Overall tuning seems much more effective as well for some reason.

Yep, there isn't a funky "dip". And the sub probably runs as high as 125Hz, maybe more, so it really fights the door speakers and creates a muddiness.

Thanks for pics Jason, I can confirm as well, it hits MUCH better now. Burbons and Lacs by Master P , sounds as it should. Quality is about what I would expect from the factory premium package. I was a little surprised how small the woofer actually is, pretty puny.
A 10inch sub could fit in that space nicely by a custom installer.

Yep, I was going to squeeze in a JL 10", but got laid off so cancelled that idea. I still wouldn't mind a 10", but it's far less pressing now. I agree it sounds like it should. Id rate it a 6/10, with my old meridian at maybe an 8/10. It WAS a 3/10 before, especially at high volumes. I would think Rivian can fix this via software.

I wonder how consistent this is. Perhaps not all vehicles are wired wrong. That would explain why some people liked the recent audio update, and some did not.

I suppose they could offer a "Reverse Phase" checkbox in the IQ screen and let people sort it out themselves, but I suspect they wouldn't do that.

I'd say the easiest way to tell is if the bass gets worse/muddier when you turn the volume up or if it sounds better with the eq adjusted with the bass frequencies turned down, then the phase is reversed.

Agreed. I'm going to give that a shot myself.

I swapped the purple pin/wire to the left and no difference. I put them back to the original setup. 2025 R1T Gen 2 with Premium Audio

When the speakers are out of phase you should hear a difference in bass reproduction. If they were correct before the switch, then you should have heard less bass after the switch. A bass heavy audio source is needed to really hear it, I think.
