Good Luck! That’s exactly how I felt about install/content when I installed my Prinsu. Cardboard and thick blanket on your glass a highly recommended!

whelp...review inbound soon. tl;dr: returning the mars and ordered the prinsu. Dissapointed in the mars rack. more to come but I'm sad and probably won't be happy again until the prinsu arrives.

Prinsu is great - just installed it on my R1S. Had the original one on my Forester.

Yes. Really nothing to do with time of day though and just the orientation of your rig with regards to the sun. Do I notice it enough to bug me; no, not at all.

I deleted it to be fair to mars as I work through this with their customer support. was going to update but I got pulled into camp david to resolve an issue over ownership rights of legos and a particular ride on horse toy with the kids. Unlike my kids, Mars seems willing to come to the table and find a fair (faring?) resolution though not exactly apologetic or upset (on my behalf) for the issues. I’m still going with the prinsu just given that I haven’t found anyone who is unhappy with that purchase. once everything is settled with mars (and ideally once the prinsu is installed) I will return with a full update and review/side by side first impressions.

PS for prinsu owners, what do you recommend for grab handles. Debating between agency 6, the ridgeline, or waiting for some currently out of stock handles with piccatinny rail grips.

Agency 6 seems like the most practical. The piccatinny option seems cool because I can change up the looks with rail covers - not sure they are a great idea for hand comfort and are a bit redundant for mounting when you have a full rack. Alternatively, how useful are handle lights? Also do they look genuinely cool or are they more like the window molle panels the moms at school pickup rock on their Defenders?

that just gave me a great idea - tactical cosmetics organizer hard shell that mounts to a molle panel - maybe a Pelican x Chanel cobrand? Every defender owner I know would buy one.

PS for prinsu owners, what do you recommend for grab handles. Debating between agency 6, the ridgeline, or waiting for some currently out of stock handles with piccatinny rail grips.

I’m very happy with the Prinsu grab handles. They aren’t fancy, but they’re very comfortable to hold and use.

As for side rack lights, I went with a 3-D printed mount solution for Harbor Freight rock lights. I have mine wired up separately for left or right - and they do provide a good amount of light, but not too bright, especially when at camp. They were much more affordable than buying dedicated handle lights.

It’s a Phillips Ultinon branded 40” bar - also happy with how it’s performing it’s been mounted almost 16 months now with no moisture or performance issues.

ProSpeed Roof Rack is looking more and more like vaporware.

<<PROSPEED RACKS RESPONSES>>:
1. The roof rack uses 6061 1/4" aluminum.
2. Weight rating: 300lbs dynamic, 600lbs static.
3. Includes 8 crossbars.
4. Height info is not specified.
5. Crossbars are 2x1".
6. Side rail height is approximately 2” tall
7. Rack uses 50” cross bars it will not taper. There’s a slight overhang in the rear due to the taper of the body. We have an option if you want it to taper to use a 49” bar for the rear

Right, so I'm most interested in Prospeed right now but I assumed it's vapor given all the data in front of me. I'd definitely want all 8 bars, but all the pics I can find show 4. I also don't see anything in their Shopify store about how to order the taper (to point #7 above).
