Not every mod or accessory ends up being a win.

What’s something you tried on your Rivian that you’d skip if you could do it again?

Surprisingly, I think that would be the sunroof shade for me. I did not use it last summer and did not notice much of a difference from when I did. As others pointed out, most of the heating comes from the windshield.

Probably the Roof racks and paddle board attachment. I bought them with the intention of taking our R1S every summer to Mammoth... but my full sized truck ends up being more practical. We carry SUPS, Kayak, mountain bikes and fishing gear... Enjoyability wise, I prefer the R1S.

Second, the EVsportline metal lock box that takes the place of the speaker. The good it does me in the cardboard box in the Frunk...

Magsafe phone holder on the dash. Literally never use this. Thought I would but the native system is my preferred method of operating nowadays and with google maps now integrated, no need to rely on my phone for navigation.

Ditto on this. I bought a roof shade too and rarely use it. Quite frankly. the nice roof window is rather useless for those up front unless you really want to crane your neck to look up. Might be good for the backseat passengers, but who looks up when you are driving?

Everything I have ever purchased from electruck4x4 was so bad I went back in time and stopped myself from making that mistake. ;-) Of course I am joking, but you are brave starting this thread.

My entry is Jack pucks.

They are a work of art, but it turns out that every tire shop I have visited already had their own pucks so there was no need to provide my own, and since I don't have a spare tire, I won't be using them myself.

1. I bought a sunroof shade that I will never use. I ended up adding Xpel tint to everything but the windshield. The Xpel window film heavily absorb UV and IR regardless of its visible light transmission.
2. The cargo bars. The R1S is just too tall to reach stuff on the roof without a step stool or a ladder. Cargo bars work much better on the bed of the R1T.
3. The camp speaker was included in the launch edition, so I had no choice but to take it. My R1S Quad launch Edition shipped without the speaker, but with the drawer installed. The camp speaker was shipped to my home later. It's still in the box. I'll probably try to sell it.

$1,500 Dynamic Glass Roof. Have yet to need or use it. Forget it's there, even when the sun is directly overhead. Suspect that just a snap-in sun shield would have sufficed.

Same, but I still use my phone on road trips for Waze (i.e., police). The mag safe mount I bought has nowhere to connect to in the dash. So I'm going back to a suction cup mount on the windshield. Boo.

One day you'll be driving in a hot sunny climate and your scalp will start to get hot and you'll remember you have that feature and be happy. I'm looking forward to using it on my upcoming road trip to SoCal through the Imperial Valley. Very hot.

I bought the racks and have yet to use them, but if I end up the the roof height rack for the bed, the racks could go on the roof for a longer area for lumber.

I bought a set of jack pucks, then I got the running boards. To mount the running boards, I took off the plastic trim pieces and put them in my garden shed. Just too lazy to cut holes in them to reinstall. Now, I don't need jack pucks to find a place for the jack to lift.

I bought some weird cup holder thing that hangs off the side of the floor center tray. Garbage.
The best thing I bought was the bed mat. Keeps the crap out of all the joints and spaces in the bed floor. Wish I had it from day 1!

I leave it off when I'm alone, but my wife wants it turned on as soon as she gets in the cab. She usually rides in the backseat with the baby, so I think they get hit a bit harder with sun back there.
