R2 Mods on your list?

I know, its early. But without a configurator or more detailed info on when our R2 will be coming, I thought I would engage in a little bit of speculation...

Radar Detector install?
Must have for me. I am assuming there will be a mirror tap and mirror stem mount available aftermarket...

2 Channel Dashcam?
I've been spoiled by having Blackvue 2 ch systems in my vehicles. Will the onboard systems reliably replace those, or will I want to have them installed in the R2? Thoughts?

Wheels?
Not really jazzed about the wheel options I am seeing so far from Rivian. Hope some better looking designs are yet to be revealed, but if not - aftermarket?

If Rivian sticks with simplified gas shocks, I'll probably look at upgrading them and trying to put a mount directly on the hatch that lifts out with the hatch. Interesting thing I noticed when looking into it is they changed the direction of the shocks at least one time on the prototype. In the first video, they did say they were looking into making the hatch open taller.

Is it? I mean, does it function like a full time dash cam? I am unfamiliar with Rivian's built in system, so I have questions. I like knowing I have full time coverage, front and rear, available to download for any event. If the built in system does this reliably, great!

Unfortunately I have a heavy foot. I drive safely, but tend to go beyond posted speeds. Not a good habit, but very often I find that speed limits are somewhat arbitrarily slow - beyond safety reasons, in my view. I also regularly experience situations that seem designed by local municipalities to generate revenue from speed limit infractions. Sudden slowdowns, minimal signage, that sort of thing. I've had RDs in my cars for many years, and just feel better about driving with one.

I have when I dislike them enough. My last brand new vehicle came with ugly wheels. I sold the stock ones and bought wheels I liked. The net cost was minimal. Looks so much better. Sometimes I find the stock wheels awful ugly. Not going to live with that. If Rivian doesn't have a choice I like I will find something aftermarket. I will wait and see how they look, though.

I assume the Rivian crossbars are fixed, as opposed to having rails so they can be spaced as needed (roof rack, ski rack, etc.). I hope the Thule roof rack ($) from my Jeep works with R2!

If you have the Thule platform rack, they have a Rivian specific mount that uses the factory mount points. Thule will send you just the mounts if you already have the rack. I adapted the Thule platform rack from my wifes car and mounted it to the Rivian Cross bars using T-slot bolts.
