I’ve been getting random proximity alerts when I turn the vehicle sharply, eg turning right at an intersection. But, there are no actual objects by the car.

Gen 1 R1T. This has been happening across different software updates.

Picture is what I see on the front dash. There’s audio alerts happening too.

Has anyone else experienced this? It’s not consistent, but happens about 30-40% of the time. I’m worried that if I file a ticket and it’s not reproducible, Rivian will just say: “come back next time.”

Appreciate any help!

I get alerts when turning if it’s a double turn lane and the turn signal is on, but I believe that is different than what you are talking about.

Yeah, I get that sometimes. I obviously check my mirrors et al, but mostly just assume a bug, water droplet, or whatever fell within line of sight.

Mine does it on the left side only. I've traced the problem to the sensors or side cameras being dirty, usually with road spray after rain. For whatever reason some of mine are super touchy.

It may seem stupid, but try wiping off the cameras and the sensors and see if it works for a while.

I’ve tried that. I don’t think it’s my sensors per se, but it feels like the wiring or computer somewhere isn’t working right. My sensors get triggered on both sides when I turn sharply. But again, only 30-40% of the time

Mine does that sometimes but mostly the driver side sensors. It makes me check twice to make sure before I make the turns.

I get the same thing when I'm backing into my driveway. There's a tree on the corner of my driveway that seems to be just close enough for the sensors to pick it up and it gives a cross-traffic warning when reversing. Annoying, but I've come to expect it now.

Mine does that on rare occasions when turning left...but usually only like 1 beep (too fast to even look to see where it's coming from). When I look in the mirrors and such, nothing is there. I havent' given it too much thought.

Now, if it were going off 30-40% of the time as the OP noted, I'd ask service to look into it.

This happens to me sometimes as well. Usually, it happens because there are a lot of weeds/brush on the side of the road, so the radar picks that up as an issue, as if I were going to hit it.

Well I'm stumped then. If it was the front quarter I would've thought maybe something not lined up quite right was picking up the edge of the tire at full lock, but it's not.

The only other thing I can think of is if it happens when you are alone and not in proximity to another vehicle. I also had a curious problem when mine would do something similar in one parking lot facing a particular direction, even when it was empty. It made me wonder if the sensor was picking up EM noise or signals from other sources that it was misinterpreting as a radar return. That would suggest a defect of some sort.
