The answer is obvious but you're too blind to see it. The answer is that rivian ranks high in ownership cost which is skewed by the fact that the cars are within warranty and everything is fixed for free.

When you have a car that is last in predicted reliability, the ownership cost will greatly affect the overall score.

In my opinion, this too is skewed. The data corelates to every time a Rivian is brought in for an issue, and given the repairs are free, most customers, myself included, take greater liberties in having those things, sometimes nothing burgers, addressed.
It depends on the breadth of the users being asked, if they're all within 3 years or purchase they would all be under warranty, equaling the playing field. But if they're asking all owners, it could skew it because Rivian is so new, but I'm sure they have some kind of cutoff, not just all Ford or Subaru owners ever to own one.

Tesla vehicles are also less than 5 years old, aka under warranty.

The difference is that you don't bring them into service because there are both no issues and the cars have lithium-ion low voltage battery packs. They design the cars around having low service intervals.

We are referring to model 3/Y which are 97% of their vehicle sales

No, no, guys, not that Tesla...

Sunydrm, do you own a cherry orchard professionally? If not, and you'd like a career change, you're the best cherry picker I've seen in a long time.

We are talking about vehicle brands ranked by reliability. If we look at all tesla models, the least reliable models are S/X/Cybertruck.

Guess how many of those they sell a year. Not many.

And if the cybercab releases in April 2026 as the drivable variant that has been leaked for months, this car will also eat into model 3/Y sales

So Tesla is allowed to make shitty cars, so long as they don't sell that many? I'm not sure the logic there, but okay.

Also their least reliable cars are their cars with the most features and tech. It's almost as if the more complicated something is, the more likely it is to break. I wonder if we can tie that into Rivian's reliability score. Hmmmm....

Well rivian makes shitty cars as their only cars. Don't see your point

Does Rivian have a lower-tier car with simpler parts out yet that I'm unaware of?

Has rivian mass produced a car before? No.

They also have not had years to iron out issues with said mass produced car.

They will be making shitty cars for a while

The cybercab is a different car entirely as it uses all future technology. Steer by wire, brake by wire, plastic panels, unboxed process, 48v and etherloop. It can be made for under $20K because the battery is only 40kWh

I'll believe it when I see it. It will be out right around the same time the roadster with SpaceX's Super Dooper rockets is out.
