Yes, if Tariffs remain, this might be my next vehicle. It's pretty compelling though I'd only want the M-Sport steering wheel which would force you up stream in build and costs as I don't think a-la-carte will be available in North America. [edit] Later learned that the M-Sport Pro steering wheel might be an option which is great news.

The landscape is changing fast! It’s a good thing because I love EVs and don’t intend to go back to an ICE vehicle.

Yeah, too bad the rest of the world exists. A lot of us are off the buy American train for the next 3 or so years. The fact that Rivians are basically unobtainium due to tariffs up here definitely points to IX3 over the R2 for me right now.
This video is interesting if over 30 minutes.
Glad to hear some actual colors (red and green) are coming and that 22kW charging is standard for the Is market for L2 charging.

M Sport wheel will be a standalone option, on the UK configuration it is GBP125 so pretty inexpensive.

Isn't that too expensive for an electric X3? They had trouble selling the much better and bigger IX at around $80k-$90k. IX had very good real world range, like this one.

This makes no sense to me. Why would any US citizen be "off the buy American train"?

So you have the max pack? I am glad the >$80k R1 can equal and exceed the $60k BMW in various aspects of the vehicle.

Looking at a dual motor large battery R1S Bigger vehicle but SUV configuration, two motors and comparable 0-60 acceleration. The price is $91k.
Yep. I get it. The cost difference is significant. You are correct. But can the iX3 transport a sheet of drywall? And go 0-60 in less than 3 seconds?

There are a lot of Americans that buy BMWs and other non American vehicles. I think many are waiting for BMW and others to make a great EV at a good price point.

True but it is a truck and an R2 or R3 wouldn’t work well for this situation either so unrealistic situation.

I’m a U.S. citizen and I won’t go into the politics here. But I won’t buy a lot of American stuff, intentionally at least until 2028. I simply don’t want my money going to them, period.

It is a comparable price for the performance. A premium compact CUV is easily in the $50k range now so no it is not especially expensive.
The iX is also two row and $15k more than this vehicle minimum plus the iX3 has cheaper variants coming in 2027.

You won’t buy a Rivian as a way of sticking it to Trump???
