I was reading about various SC events, etc. and it got me thinking about the Rivian service loaner fleet. When the R2 ships, will Rivian transition service loaners to the R2? As an owner of the "Flagship" R1, would you expect an R1 service loaner?
It's unclear what exactly the difference is between the two "I don't care..." options #2 & #4, they sound like the same opinion worded differently.

2 - I don't care if I get an R1 or R2
4 - I don't care if it's a Rivian or a rental

I would only care if I was actually using my truck for truck stuff during the loaner period. Honestly, I'm 99% more likely to just be driving myself or the kids around town, in which case "whatever new/interesting car" would be a neat experience.

When my Model S was in for service, I'd frequently get a Model 3 loaner. (Or an Uber/Lyft credit.)

When my BMW i3 was in for service, I'd frequently get an X1 loaner. I think I got an i3 once in half a dozen service visits.

When my R1T has been in for service, I've never gotten a Rivian loaner. (I've just taken the Uber/Lyft credit, since I haven't truly needed a loaner for the short periods my Rivian has been in for service.)

I don't "expect" to get the same model.

When I had a Porsche Cayenne, it was pretty common to get a Macan as a loaner. Same thing when I had a BMW - you typically got a 3 series regardless of what car you bought. These care, like the R2 are cheaper for the manufacturer to put into their loaner fleet and still keep you within the brand. As an owner, I didn't really care, and it was a nice change to see what's new/different from my current car.

As a side note, we've have a Tesla Roadster for about 10-11 years. Last summer the heat/Ac motor stopped working so we took and in November we took it in to the local Tesla Service Center (luckily one of the few who works on those these days is about 3 miles from the house.). When they tore it apart they noticed there was a mouse nest and some chewed wires and needed to order parts. At the time, the only loaner they had in was a Cybertruck to which we are still driving because the parts haven't come in on the Roadster yet. My joke when that UGLY thing came home was, "well, I guess if you can't sell them, put them into your loaner fleet."

I personally hate it, but it's a set of wheels and when we needed to pick up some floor tile for a house project, we took the dumpster (as I call it) because if we're going to scratch up the bed of a truck with a forklift and pallet, why not on the truck we don't own.

At some point in the past couple of months ALL of our neighbors have commented on that ugly thing by saying, "Did you trade the roadster in for a Cybertruck?" To which we answer, "no, it's just a loaner." There is generally a sigh of relief at that point from the neighbors.

Drive happy...

For many years we had Nissan vehicles. The dealership offered a free loaner vehicle if your repair was going to take more than 4 hours. They kept several base model Rogues for lend. We're not picky. When my R1T needed the recall service back in October, we got a launch edition R1S (yes, 1st gen) as the loaner.

Yes, it drove and handled like a truck; not in a nice way. But it served the purpose. Had it for 4 days.
AQn R1T is a truck.

Ughhh..... If I had a CT as a loaner, I would wear a mask while driving it.

If it weren't rainy season, I'd put a piece of paper on the tailgate, "Please don't hate me, but this is the only loaner they had for my Roadster that's in for service."
