For me its definitely the new steering wheel. While the R1 steering wheel is nice, its not amazing. I think the user interface with the large dials, dynamic clicks and haptic feedback is going to be a game changer for the driving experience.

The second would have been the fold flat front seats but from all indications, that has been scraped.

Third will be the upcoming Gen2 R2 with LiDAR and true eyes/hands-off driving.

It was confirmed about four to six months after the reveal, I think. Something related to not conforming to safety regulations in the US.

A bit off topic, but I wouldn't be surprised if a version of that steering wheel ends up on the R1 at some point. Perhaps when it gets LiDAR with the next mild update.

I always thought the multi point cargo carrier was a neat idea but since it was probably a single model design and accessories
Probably won’t see the light of day until more vehicles follow

I'm actually more excited about the R3, when and if.... Love the look. I did reserve the R2, however. The jury is still out on FSD. I don't know if I will ever be fully comfortable and the Gen one driving assist hasn't instilled a lot of confidence.

This seems to be a universal thing with demo vehicles. Every year a carmaker debuts a car with lie-flat seats, or swivel seats, etc. Then they come back and say oops, safety regulations prevent it.

You'd think these car companies would actually understand safety regulations before they design it. Or (more likely) they're just designing things that look cool knowing full well it will never get built.

It will be short enough to fit in my garage. My R1T is too long to fit. Yes, I have a sucky short garage. which is all my fault because I foolishly had the house built that way.

I was really excited about this as an easier way to get out and go camping without needing a trailer.

I was also interested in the accessory connector on the back of the R2 which I believe has been scrapped.

Otherwise I am excited about the SUV styling over my Model Y.

I do wonder about the reason because the Tacoma has an option to fold the front passenger seat per pic below. IIRC there is also a truck or SUV with a middle jump seat between driver and passenger main seats, where the back folds forward to present a flat surface between the two main seats. Perhaps the limit is on the drivers seat, but I would still appreciate a flat passebger seat position to carry long loads and camping if that was the only option.
