FYI these types of magnets are very popular/useful (3d printing, woodworking projects, etc).

You can get 50-150 of them from Amazon in various sizes for like $7 shipped next day with Prime. Good to have on hand. But also probably not worth it for someone to ship you a few when you can get a ton.

I just ordered 150 6x3mm ones for a 3d print project. It was $5.99. Ordered yesterday. Arrives today.

Those good with 3D modeling and printing could also make a plastic leaf spring to be 3M taped to the same location and serve same function.

I too mostly prefer text and photos, but after making a lot of hobby and medical info over the years, you and I are not the norm. So I do my best to be as to the point as possible. This video is "too long" because I showed the entire process, start to finish, my first time, mistakes and all.

Great idea- the linked magnets are already sold out, but I'd imagine any 3mm thick ones would work?

3mm thick is key, the outside diameter could probably be as big as 18 or 20 I think. You could measure.

I use the tunnel a lot, and got tired of the stupid doors being hard to use.

I love this! But I’m also a little worried that I have been so conditioned to pulling out the gear tunnel door that in a parking tight spot, I will now just let it accidentally drop on whatever I’m parked next too.

So then you need to add a hook and short tether... mission creep! Or just stand between the hatch and whatever you're parked next to.

Seems like a good fix if your doors barely open. Mine - without magnets - open about as far as yours do with them, so I don't need them. But mine are also a bit bent and dented from accidentally dropping them on things, so maybe that helps with the "separation".

Mine don't drop, they still have to be pulled on. You just now have 20-25mm of clearance to do so.
