NGL, I love sh*t like this. Little touches that are unique, and thoughtful, and playful, and, somehow make things just a little bit better just by being. Something that doesn't need to exist for any real reason but that make you smile because they do. It's a tiny little part of why my next vehicle is going to be a Rivian R2. FWIW.
Not to mention a little distraction for the employees to keep them engaged. There are benefits to little things like this.

Did you know that people can use the same language to describe something without being told to do so? Such a crazy concept...
I am not surprised, my friend. :CWL:

It's always good to dream, because reality is harsher. You are probably correct; it just sounds the same. Obviously, it's just like Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”, similar to copying Marvin Gaye, or The Doors’ “Hello I Love You”, they just came up with it, it's not a copy of The Kinks, and George Harrison’s “My Sweet Lord” ...just seems similar to The Chiffons. They were totally new ideas and not copied...got it. Why not? They each could have come up with the same music...unless we look at statistics and odds.

And all of the YouTubers found the same Easter Eggs without being told? Okay then. I am sure they all looked at the frit and the little man was just sooo visible. That's what I look at when I am looking over cars, the frit. First on the list, I go all around it looking for...things?

Poof, each of them opened the charger door and noticed the black plastic, and all were so astute to immediately recognize it as a maze. You might be right. I was just being cynical and thought it might have been pointed out to them. I stand corrected. I wonder if I ever believed in the tooth fairy?

Those rear seat pictures must be correct and show the front seats where they would normally be for a average 5'-9" male in the USA. Here are the published numbers. Mea culpa.

That I haven't heard anything about in the last few days. Wonder if anyone with R1 launch experience can tell us when those were available for demo drives in relation to when deliveries were happening...
I was never offered a test drive. The first time I saw an R1T was the day mine arrived at my house on the back of a flatbed in early March 2022.

Odd. They came to my house in November 2021 for a test drive before my March 2022 delivery.

I did a drive event at Aqua Dolce near Santa Clarita, CA where they showed some R1Ts and let us drive one on an off-road course in July 2022.

The first time I drove an R1S was when I picked mine up at the plant in Normal in January 2023.

Oh dear, is it just me, or do all of the YouTube presenters read from the same script? The "Easter Eggs" Really? They all mention it. Did they all find it? Do I think anyone cares about the maze on the charger door? Or the little man in the windshiled frame? Who cares about any of them?

Most are saying, "look at all the leg room in the back" or "shockingly large"...Really? Looks like the front seat is set all the way forward, and the back of the seat is ahead of the B-pillar. Must be a midgit driving (oops sorry, a person of smaller stature). Christ, the RIT and R1S have crap leg room in the back (as do most cars these days) if someone in the front is 5'-10" or more, and I am supposed to think the leg room is great in a smaller car? I guess it is just a job, and they will not get to review if they had to be honest. The G wagon is the same, crap leg room in the rear seat. I don't often see adults riding in the rear seats, so I guess it doesn't matter to most of us. Look at these pictures (without laughing), then go out to your R1T or R1S and see if you have any where near that much room.

Below is my R1T rear seat in normal driving position, and I am 5'-11". Crikey, that R2 sure is big on the inside. It's a bloody S Class!

This really makes me think that I should stop looking at the reviews for facts because they all seem to be BS, very entertaining perhaps, but just not very truthful.

The puppets got flown in and put up in nice hotels (I hope) to give favorable reviews, job well done. With nothing bad to say, life is good. Perfect car.

It would be nice to hear about the ride quality, the wind noise, does it have double pane glass, do the windshield wiper cover the entire screen, do the A pillars block your view, are the seats firm or soft, does it lean excessively going around corners, do you hear freeway seams while driving, is the information screen responsive, are the headlights providing good coverge, does the rear hatch open enough for someone that is 6 foot tall, is the turn signal stalk the right distance from the wheel, are the shocks doing well over speed bumps? I really don't care about stupid childish "Easter Eggs", I am not three years old. Nor do I care if I can change the outside door lock to sound like an owl. Tesla has the ability to change the outside speaker to other sounds when they lock...has anyone ever heard a Tesla make a special sound when an owner walks away? Ever? You can make the turn signal "Fart" when using it. Again, have you ever had a ride in a Tesla where the owner has that set? I doubt it.

Give me the real-world charging reality. If I plug it in at home how long will it take to charge at 120V and 240V, how many miles per hour of charging goes into the battery. It seems my R1T adds 21 or 22 per hour at 240V. Therefore, if I charge for 10 hours, it adds 215 miles. So don't come home at 11:00 PM and expect to leave at 6 AM, because you added 150 miles and you drove 200 the day before. Plan accordingly.

One other thought, since other car makers are substituting engine sounds through the sound system to keep owners happy (Mercedes BMW, Ford etc. ) do you think it's strange that Rivian and Tesla do not pump in big V8 sound when in launch mode? Maybe a countdown 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, before launch?

Don't get upset with me, I am not beating up on Rivian; they are doing their best. Enjoy the videos for what they are, friendly paid advertisements, and you should not take them seriously. Take the information with a grain of salt.

Should we wait for the R3?

People already commented how the reviews did mention how it handles, how quiet it is (with on reviewer mentioning there was a little bit of a whistle but Rivian said they were putting another seal, that they were getting about 310-320 on their AT tires (not explicityly except Carwow, but you could figure it out based on their comments on mi/kwh, and that Rivian and reviewers on the day that it was announced that there was more room in the back seat in the R2 than the R1 series.

AS for easter eggs, I care. I love that crap. It made me a bit excited because it gives it character and a little fun that there might be things for me to find. If you're this upset maybe this car isn't for you. Everyone was disappointed by the lack of information, but aren't attacking these youtubers who were under strict guidelines about things Rivian wasn't ready to share.

Don't get your knickers in a twist. I am glad you get excited by the "Easter Eggs", and that it makes you want to buy the car. You could have an exciting weekend looking for all of them and follow it up with your own YouTube video. It might be fun.

I would have liked additional information, and you were happy with what you watched. No one was attacking them. You will note that I said they were entertaining. I enjoy watching them and have for years. I hope you subscribe to their channels, as I do. These people make a living creating these videos, and they are a damn sight better than most TV shows and a lot of the movies produced. I still believe that they are given talking points, and if you don't believe that...I say we live in a country that values diversity and choice. You are entitled to your opinion, as am I.

For Valentine's Day, I have something special for you.

First time watching a car review?

R1S has a larger back seat than the R1T does. The R2's advantage is it doesn't have a third row of seats, but is only 15" shorter than the R1S. I can have my driver's seat in a normal comfortable position in my S with a rear facing seat behind it, but I have to bring the T's slightly further forward into a somewhat uncomfortable position in the same circumstance. One of the reasons I prefer it over the T.
Can anyone compare cargo space between R1S and R2?

I’m driving an R1T and had a loaner R1S and liked the rear space for two large dogs we adopted. I’d love to see the measurements comparing the R1 and R2 cargo width, length, etc.

I’ve personally been feeling pretty indifferent about my reservation, which I’ve held since March 14th, 2014, but these reviews and seeing the R2 has me much more excited. I’m currently driving a 2022 Model Y with about 75k miles on it, it’s doing fine but I’d love more clearance as I drive in the mountains/snow a lot, and I’m excited for something new.

Looking forward to March.
