I received a very delayed iPhone notification at 2:30AM EST that an update was ready to install. The update was already installed yesterday evening. Clicking the notification redirects me to the mobile app updates page displaying the updated version number. Strange.

So just to be clear, the Autonomy+ feature set, for $50 per month or $2500 one-time, is no better than my 2016 Model S with Mobile Eye Gen 1 autopilot?

Oh wait, it's actually worse because my Tesla can park itself right now and not "sometime in 2026".

Unbelievable....

How could you not be a fan of cool/cold air blowing out when the UI shows heat? /s

Couldn’t get my truck to blow hot air at my windshield while driving in near white out conditions on Donner Summit today. Sure, it feels wonderfully rooted when driving in the snow, but that whole being able to see out the window without a ton of ice visibility thing would be pretty damned useful, too.
Man that sucks, sorry to hear that.

Sounds shitty, but I'm glad I'm not the only one. I knew I wasn't crazy.

Is that the same version that will drive you into a lake?

Similar thing happened to me. I saw in the app that an update was available without getting a notification last night, updated it, and then this morning woke up to a notification that an update was ready.

Confused, a bit, your 2016 Model S lets you drive with your hands off the wheel? It changes lanes for you and without shutting off AP on the highway? I am literally asking (my 2020 Model Y did not but i got rid of it a few years ago).

I do assume/expect that there will be an additional feature (or two) before the end of the 60 trial, but we shall see.

It was the version before they introduced the "drive into the lake feature". I think I'm safe.

Edit: oh, and don't get me wrong. My version of autopilot has tried to kill me numerous times over the last decade.

Here are the high points of APv1:
1. Activate anywhere there are dashes on the road (and even some streets where it just detects a curb, but I really wouldn't trust it there)
2. Traffic aware cruise control meaning it will vary speed based on the car in front otherwise, drive the set speed
3. Summon in and out of parking spots and garages
4. Parallel Park
5. Perpendicular Park
6. Lane change on command (but it checks blind spots using parking sensors, so again, I don't really trust it)

It requires steering wheel touches to babysit the driver (as opposed to eye tracking and just like Driver+used to). However, if you tape an orange to the steering wheel and activate it on a highway, it will literally drive in that lane without any user intervention until the battery dies.

I certainly don't say any of this to brag, I understand that there are vast improvements in the "nines" as we can them in IT. I'm just pointing out that as a raw feature set, Rivian has yet to do anything Earth shattering with regards to feature set. And certainly nothing worth the exorbitant amount of money they are asking. Especially considering they are feature locked on this hardware platform.

Anyone else's gauge view showing microscopic efficiency numbers on the trip meter? Really annoying since that's the number I'm actually interested in much of the time. Not sure why they made the change...the trip miles isn't really any bigger, but the efficiency and time/avg speed are super tiny now.

I have been downloading this update for about 12 hours now and the diwnload is still under 40% complete where it used to be much quicker in previous software updates.

Anybody experiencing the same?

Yes. All of the items on the gauges menu are smaller to accommodate the large "towing" tab at the top that I'll never use. Ugh. Gauges were much better two versions ago.
