So disappointed reading this. Not a great way to "start deliveries" for Rivian. I don't know enough information to start pointing fingers and criticizing, but I'm starting to manage my expectations - I think it is highly unlikely that they will stick to my assigned delivery window (R1S LE, July - Sept).
The interesting thing is people that have spoken to CS with March/April dates recently seem to have had their window shrink to just March. The next few weeks should be enlightening.

I really, really, really hope the next few weeks are enlightening in a positive way. If there's no communication from Rivian regarding Jan/Feb delivery windows that will be a major bummer.

I am usually pretty Pollyanna with regards to Rivian, giving them lots of leeway mostly because it doesn't much matter when I get my rig. I am not selling or trading in a car, I don't have a lease expiring, my current car isn't going anywhere, etc. As well as the fact that starting a new automotive company from the ground up is really hard (and I've only been waiting about 18 months).

However, to say you're going to get a vehicle into a customer's hands in the next four weeks, and you've not started the actual process to get it delivered is concerning. I would think they would absolutely have to have that conversation in the next 7-10 business days if they want any chance of hitting 2/28.

My theory is that the windows did not change, just the emails sent out were intentionally vague vs the 30 day window that the CS reps can see. Some CS reps share that even though they probably are not supposed to.

The last time I reached out for an update from my Guide was two months ago. Seeing that windows might be getting more precise, I reached out again recently and got what I perceived to be a slightly irritated response.... kinda like, 'don't call me, I'll call you' when I know anything.

Given that 'March/April' is right around the corner, and that 'January/February' is *now*, I'm feeling a little deja vu from last June/July (ahem, October... umm... November). I'm a super patient person, maybe to a fault sometimes. I didn't dig the feeling I got from this exchange.

Fortunately for Rivian, my answer to the thread about 'what other vehicle(s) would you buy for $75-80k right now?' is: nothing, at the moment.

With March 16/17 being the tentative date for the 2021 Q4 quarterly report, I suspect we will see a flurry of deliveries happening closer to end of February into 2nd week of March.

I suspect this when we see all the January - February deliveries to actually happen, especially considering they had production halted through the month of January, for whatever excuse they gave.

I totally understand the anxiety here and I think it's reasonable for folks to be concerned and upset.

What I don't get is bumping the thread to ask if anyone has heard anything. I'm pretty confident that if anyone on this forum is proactive enough to be paying attention to the "Jan feb delivery windows" thread, they'll be proactive enough to post the second they get the slightest inkling that their delivery is moving forward.

Silence is loud.

Not for nothing; it’s my understanding the plant is closing tomorrow due to weather.

Honestly I am really wondering the whole transport process to date I have not seen any vehicles properly wrapped or protected.

That reminds me. We had a small Minnesota road trip over the holidays and passed a good number of full sized trucks in transport. None of them. Had extra protection. Meanwhile there was protection on the hood of a less expensive car I saw the other day and rhe Lucid we've all seen looked like a Christmas present I would have wrapped as a kid (lots of tape and several pieces of wrapping paper).

Point being, each manufacturer seems to do things a bit different.

Bloomington does not handle snow well. I've been down for Christmas many times and when there is 2+" of snow people are all in ditches.
