R3X, absolutely. I will get the earliest one of that I can. R2? Meh. If my wife happens to crash her Model S in the next couple months, maybe a Borealis R2 Launch to replace it.

I'm interested in the Launch edition for sure, questions around it though, are will it still be available when they launch in Canada in 2027, will it have the new autonomy processor and LiDAR, and what kind of cross border premium will be tacked on.

80k cdn or less, and it will be compelling here, if that all of the sudden starts hitting 90k+, even optioned up, then it'll be an up hill battle for any sort of market share.

I’d leave work RIGHT NOW if RJ called and said it was ready

Cancelled my day 1, hour 1 R2 reservation and sticking with my 4 year old R1T for now. Perhaps an R3 or R3X someday.

It's not like the launch isn't a appealing, wife was hoping for an interior like the slate in R1. Going to hold to see what if anything the Gen 3 and rumored tri-motor bring. Hoping more options come once they prove this is a vehicle people want, and they are able to deliver a ton of units. Lidar seems solid in adverse weather driving where cameras/sensors fall short.

More interested in the standard long range as well, however if lease options are good then I would jump on an LE for 24-36 months.

No. I think that it is a mistake to launch without offering a configuration in the color you would choose. I have owned 2 R1S Quads (including my present Gen 2). I thought Rivian was smart to offer Storm Blue as an alternative to Launch Green when they opened configuration for the Gen 2 Quad last July. I went with Arctic White when all colors were available a few weeks later. The R2 is for the mass market. The lack of an option to buy a base vehicle in 2026 already alienates some potential buyers. Limiting configuration choices at launch alienates more. I think it would have been smart for Rivian to contact some early adapters and stock holders to discuss their R1 launch experiences. They certainly listen to feedback when it comes to adding features people missed in the R1s, like the lack of a glove box(there are 2 in the R2).
Rivian needs to read the room and open up the configuration process to all buyers immediately. They don’t need Cybertruck Launch 2.0 to loose them.

I would try and add to this poll with are you interested in the LE and are you interested even if it doesn’t come with any LIDAR? It’s a huge difference at this point, even if the numbers of the poll might still land ~ 70% saying yes, regardless.

Unfortunately, no leasing in WI where I live. Otherwise, I agree with you.
