Jose"s info is pretty reliable, from reliable source. This is good business sense for Rivian - max capacity produced with maximum efficiency. I expect more intake than Rivian can produce for the launch.

It has been reported elsewhere that the launch model is not just silver and launch green. If it were that would severely limit the sales. It seems pretty clear from the Rivian press release that LE just comes in Esker Silver with Black Crater Signature interior. The LE also includes "Exclusive option of Launch Green exterior color (paid upgrade)". Unless Rivian expand the options for LE then anything else will have to wait until Rivian introduce the non-LE R2 Performance, presumably sometime between the Spring 2026 LE availability and the late 2026 R2 Premium availability, that will have the additional exterior color and Coastal Cloud Signature interior.
I'm just reading from the press release which I linked. Not sure how one would interpret that differently. It has been reported elsewhere that the launch model is not just silver and launch green. If it were that would severely limit the sales.
Agreed. I know it Damin’ streamlines production to offer one interior but painting a different color is at least as complicated than popping in different interior parts right? I’m set on the cloud interior. I’ll wait if need be but bummed. Reserved during the keynote on day one.Have cash money in hand and fully ready to buy an R2 Launch Green LE with any extra options to a top spec build but interior has to be anything but black; have had reservation since first hour of it opening 2+ years ago.
Not buying an all black interior in any vehicle, any manufacturer ever again. Our 22’ R1T LE has Forest Edge and our 23’ R1S Adventure Quad has Ocean Coast.
No non-black interior option is a deal breaker for us. I also feel it will cut into the final order numbers carried through to completion. It is a bad move. Don’t care if it pushes delivery to near the end of the LE build production cycle, but to not offer a non-black interior color is a mistake. Already compromising on large of exciting colors on exterior.
Heart was set on a R2 Tri-Motor or whatever now RAD spec they come out with when this journey started but was willing to “settle” for the lower performance of the LE as now advertised. Loose preferred interior color, exciting exterior colors, some of the upcoming tech and starts to be too many exceptions to be comfortable with the purchase. Realize these are first world problem comments I am making but this isn’t a Model T or a first year Dodge Viper. Don’t have to just buy a vehicle with zero personalization.
Here is to hoping someone comes to their senses over there on this issue. Will wait for official word from Rivian before drastic actions thought.
Disappointed is all. But then again still waiting for my tank turn and gear tunnel camp kitchen. Ha! Ha!
I interpret it differently. The way I read it, Esker Silver is 'included' as in the standard color, not the only color.I'm just reading from the press release which I linked. Not sure how one would interpret that differently.
I read it that way, too - like LA Silver on the R1 being included at the base price (but other options available).I interpret it differently. The way I read it, Esker Silver is 'included' as in the standard color, not the only color.
If all the color options are available on the LE why aren't they listed in the "Launch Package includes" section along with the paid upgrade Launch Green option? Rivian list Autonomy+ and Tow Package in that section as well as in the "Optional on Performance" section, so why not list the colors in both sections too? Ditto for the Coastal Cloud Signature interior.I interpret it differently. The way I read it, Esker Silver is 'included' as in the standard color, not the only color.
People had this same conversation when the R1 LEs were released. There's a reason Rivian are giving away options in the LE version that they would normally charge for and its not out of the kindness of their heartsIts an incentive for people to choose what's on offer because it allows Rivian to significantly optimize production for the early production ramp by essentially producing a single variant.

Tank turn is available now on the Quad, what are you waiting for?Have cash money in hand and fully ready to buy an R2 Launch Green LE with any extra options to a top spec build but interior has to be anything but black; have had reservation since first hour of it opening 2+ years ago.

Truthfully heart was set on a R2 Tri-Motor or whatever now RAD spec they come out with when this journey started but was willing to “settle” for the lower performance of the LE as now advertised. Lose preferred interior color, exciting exterior colors, and it starts to be too many compromises.

Is Rivian channeling Henry Ford?So you can have any color you want as long as it's black.
Agree and if Rivian could offer eight colors back in 2022 then they will do the same in 2026. They have streamlined build by having one battery and motor config, one interior and no other options other than color. They have learnt a lot about manufacturing these past four years.People had this same conversation when the R1 LEs were released. Everyone thought they were only going to be Launch Green….
