The 275/50R22 Scorpion Zero tire is rated 115H, i.e. up to 2,679 pounds and up to 130 mph.

This Toyo tire is rated 109Q, i.e. up to 2,271 pounds and up to 99 mph.

It doesn't seem safe to me.

Weight seems fine, that is over 10000 lbs on a vehicle with a GVWR of 8500. As long as they do not plan on sustained driving over 99 mph I would not worry about it.

I might be a bit of a worry wart, but I'd get something closer to the 115 Load Index rating, given that this 109 rating is about "only" 500 pounds more than the R1T's GVWR at 9,084. Maybe they simply over-engineered the Pirelli's, but I know I'll stick close to what they came up with. Just an abundance of caution, but then I lock my car doors even when parked in the garage.

Could be as simple as these are the most popular colors. If you look at the Rivian order surveys as well as your local parking lots, red and yellow are not the most popular offerings.

I honestly think we're past that point already. Just learned of a friend of a friend who joined the company 3 months ago who already got his truck. He ordered when he started with Rivian, not before.

Meanwhile, 3 years after my preorder....
